Possibly yes. Many of the top times came early in the day, so I do think that wind may have played a factor.

Nibbles in pink already, great for him but very hard for his team to control the next two weeks.
Evans surprising again and in contention for the overall, shame his team is not that strong for the mountain stages.
Wiggins not that good but still takes time back on everybody but do the Skyborgs know how to attack?
Gesink on a third spot after a good first week, bit surprising and his team looks strong so far.
Scarponi did very well and I expect some fireworks from him in the mountains.

Guess Hesjedal did the worst itt of the gc men but still not that far.
Very unpredictable first week, looking forward to the next one.

Hesjedal is never good at long ITT, he was two minute behind Nibali today. In olympics, he was one minute behind Menchov. While in 2012 Tour, Nibali is ahead of Menchov in both ITT.
So Hejedal did just fine. fits history pattern

He's a GC man who did a worse TT than Ryder. I was more taking umbrage with his not being considered, since he got enough of a raw deal from the broadcasters already, with them only showing his start on a replay, then giving us no time splits, no moto. This is the maglia rosa! A guy who was well inside the top 10 when he got sick a few days from the end last year, and a guy who was top 10 in the Vuelta working for a teammate - and who lost 3 minutes on a stage when he was safely placed in the front group because of said leader getting caught up in a crash, so could have been better.

The guy's a peripheral contender, sure, but he's a contender nonetheless, and you don't get into the maglia rosa after a week for nothing.

I am actually slightly more optimistic re Wiggins after today. As long as it's sunny and not too many corners, it's not all over.

He may lose time already tomorrow and he has to gain time in the mountains.

Who's this Fuentes guy? I know nothing. I am tranquillo. I was talking about Txurruka. That's WAY more important than some silly doctor keeping bags of patient's blood like a cross between Angelina Jolie and Jeffrey Dahmer.

No I don't think so. He was involved in a crash and have to recover. and prepare to work for Nibali in mountains.

he was one of the quickest riders on the final climb, so I guess it was a bit of all

Its been a terrific first week, but then it always looked like it would with the profiles. Didn't see Stage 4 and Eurosport highlights being shunted until 11pm has been the only downside.

You have to have 1 or 2 sprint stages, I've enjoyed all 7 ive seen and still wouldn't predict the outcome with any accuracy.
