I wonder how far Wiggins has fallen back on this descent.

whoaaah.. it's raining all the way to the arrival. Last descent is technical. Boy, bad news for wiggins if hesjedal or scarponi or gesink start pushing downhill.

Some rain at the Tour could definitely shake things up a bit. Wiggins' "buddy" the Dawg showed similar descending "skills" to Wiggins in Tirreno. Without rain it will just be Sky staring at their powermeters all day and everyone on here complaining about it.

Not just in that one stage either, imo. I've noticed that about Froome before, although I can't point to where exactly.

However, I believe descending is a skill that can be acquired, and there's still plenty of time for Froome to work on it until the Tour, which he really should do, now that other teams appear to see that it's a potential recipe to beat Sky.

WTF is up with Duarte. He still in the race? Treating it as a warm up for the Vuelta a Colombia?

Froome won the tirreno stage in the rain.

MTF. Stage 4. It was dump.

However he ''won'' ( came 2nd to Spilak on that MTF guaranteeing him GC win basically) in very rainy condtions at Tour de Romandie so he's not affected by rain in a bad way.

Corsica International had wet condtions too.

Allan Peiper talking about Cadel's preparation on SBS. Saying that Cadel is here to win the Giro and is feeling confident. The team is not that strong according to Peiper but that can be used to BMC's advantaged.

Froome won the tirreno stage in the rain.

The unpredictable + rainy stage (exactly the type of thing which has been causing Wiggins problems) was what lost him the overall. Nibali dropped him like an anvil off a cliff.

Sky riders love dry, predictable conditions because they can just stare at their powermeters all day and their superior 'numbers' will prove unstoppable. Exactly why Nibali needs to put a stake through Wiggins' heart and finish him off for good while it is still raining, in case the rest of the race is dry.

Yep, messed up my weather :p

Still Corsica and Romandie prove the point imho.
ok ok.
The point was more about wet descents though, I guess.
