Well its flat for a number of ks yet. Their best option is to ride hard so that wiggins will have to tire himself out to get back up and have less energy for the hill.

Well, football players have an incentive to stay down, depending on the score, if the rider stays down here, he's simply left behind, and has an even more difficult ride to the finish if he doesn't quit the race...
