Bring on the race.
They aren't riding for free, and I know lots of people who'd do it just for fun and joy.
No one is forced to risk, just like on GT descents... Who wants to compete will compete regardless of conditions.

Please please please don't cancel this. I missed Traksels victory in 2010 so I want to witness an epic edition!

It just wasn't safe to ride, look at this, La Houpe a few hours a go:

Yeah, no complaining about the decision, clearly the only call that could be made, but it still sucks.

You'd almost think that there are other people involved in bike races than the riders...

2 of the women in yesterday's Omloop had to be taken to hospital because the water in their eyeballs froze.

It's not the cold or wind. Its the snow. I dont race a bike myself, but its not hard tounderstand that ultra thin wheels and snow = nonstop crashes

The Clasica de Almeria organisers can't believe their luck.

Surely they've never been happier to live in a desert.

Really? I've never heard of such a thing even being possible.

I'm disappointed that it's been cancelled. Of course I am.
But I'm also glad! I know how tough those guys are, and how much any organisers loathes having to cancel a race. So if a race is indeed cancelled I know it's because there was no way it would've been safe to race!

Besides, I dunno about you guys, but I know I just wouldn't enjoy the race if I was worried for the safety...

apparently the actual humours don't, but if your eyes are running your tears can. I didn't know it was possible either.

Ok, so when you said 'in' which is a fantastically silly claim for these temperatures, you meant 'on'.

The source wasn't specific. I posted how I'd read it before I'd actually checked.

Cancelling was the right call to make as much as i wanted to see them race today i'd rather they didn't take the extra added risk of such badly conditioned roads and have the chance to race another day rather than something terrible or even fatal to happen.

Just surprised it passed the bull**** filter to be honest, even if I read it in the most reputable of papers; I'd be amazed if eye balls could freeze in a live person given the level of blood flow in that area.
