will de gendt be able to hold podium?

how many more real contenders for this stage are left?
Froome/Porte/Kwiatkowski/Rogers/Talansky/Chavanel

And some others. Don't think de Gendt will keep his spot on the podium.

54.24 km/h is, from what I can see, the second fastest time in a Tour ITT above 30 km's. Only David Millar on stage 19 in 2003 was faster. Is that right?

The dawg will beat it, and if he does, I´m done with cycling ;)

1 David Millar (GBr) 54.359 km/h
2 Lance Armstrong (USA) 53.986 km/h
3 Jan Ullrich (Ger) 53.642 km/h

-1.01 is not the usual Tony Martin dominance, so I have some doubts if that time is going to hold up. Froome might actually win this stage.

Probably you should look at tuft's time, and that is a solid 100 s.

Castroviejo coming up, he will be an indicator. In the Dauphine ITT, Dawg was +52 behind Martin and Castroviejo +1.08. If Castroviejo beats De Gendt, I believe Froome could challenge Martin.

i think the ticker believes that tony martin is of an entirely different class, so shouldnt look at other people's time compared to him.

letour has prob added some intelligence to their tickr s/w

Martin did 36' 54" for 32.5 km at the Dauhphine.
He just did 36' 29" for 33 km today.

Both routes were flat, but he did a .5 km longer course 25 seconds faster. Can't imagine that time getting challenged.

wasn't it the stage in which wind changed to assist the later riders??

Makes no sense to compare those purely on the km's. Wind is a big factor.

De Gendt was +2.25 behind Martin in Dauphine, today +1.01. De Gendt much stronger today or Martin a bit weaker? Hard to say yet.
