its a different thing looking like you cant work when there are 3 teams ready to help you out. Another thing if they start losing time in the gc. Then they very much will be able to work.

And if they can't. What have Katusha lost? Nothing.

Katusha need to keep distancing those behind. Looks like Sky are happy with 30-40 seconds gap.

GC from yesterday.
1. Christopher Froome (GBr) Sky Procycling 47:19:13
2 Alejandro Valverde Belmonte (Spa) Movistar Team 0:03:25
3 Bauke Mollema (Ned) Belkin Pro Cycling Team 0:03:37
4 Alberto Contador Velasco (Spa) Team Saxo-Tinkoff 0:03:54
5 Roman Kreuziger (Cze) Team Saxo-Tinkoff 0:03:57
6 Laurens Ten Dam (Ned) Belkin Pro Cycling Team 0:04:10
7 Michal Kwiatkowski (Pol) Omega Pharma-Quick Step 0:04:44
8 Nairo Alexander Quintana Rojas (Col) Movistar Team 0:05:18
9 Rui Alberto Faria Da Costa (Por) Movistar Team 0:05:37
10 Jean-Christophe Peraud (Fra) AG2R La Mondiale 0:05:39
11 Joaquim Rodriguez Oliver (Spa) Katusha 0:05:48
12 Jakob Fuglsang (Den) Astana Pro Team

That front group needs minutes to threaten the Maillot Jaune. It looks like Contador will be in podium position.

Which is why Lotto chasing is perfectly fine. And even Katusha for Kristoff I can understand. But BMC had no reason to work.

I can understand why Katusha is riding. Purito thinks he can get on the podium once they get to the Alps, especially with Valverde out of it. A shame Mollema and Ten Dam are in that front group...in more ways than one.

So much noise over a 40 second gap. I guess you didn't watch the TT? This is fun but it's hardly race changing. Except Valverde losing a boatload of course.

You can blame BMC and Katusha chasing on the UCI and their stupid system of World Tour points. You have teams fighting over 11th and 12th ruining the real race trying to get World Tour points.

This attitude is a huge disrespect to 190 of the 198 starters. They're professional athletes. Sure, some of the teammates have different goals than their captain, but they all want to be in a better position at the end of the day
