is there a stage where riblon tried on a final climb? how much time did he concede then?

He won on Ax-3 two years ago and if I remember correctly they had ages on the GC guys at the foot of the climb but I might be wrong.

I hope my tiny mind simply cannot comprehend this genius strategy - but it seems to me Roche and Paulinho ****ed up royally by missing the breakaway, and this desperately improvised Plan B is just going to result in two wiped out and useless Saxo guys in the middle of nowhere.

Unfortunately, I agree. Hope I'm wrong. They lost time on that climb, cant imagine they will have much left later.

When i looked at this stage at the start of the TDF i inwardly thought Mollema could win- from a early attack on the climb. Now however that will not happen.

One of Froome, Contador, JROD or Quintana. Hoping for an exciting stage.

Only Paulinho is working there though, Roche is saving himself for Contador.

Well, I've seen Roche taking some turns but Paulinho is doing more. That's why they're losing time I think.

Uh huh. So, would you burn two Saxo guys to burn to Sky guys? If I'm AC, I'll take that deal.

sky aren't burning anyone that needs to be burned. who cares about stannard being burned now. paulinho and roche being burned is far worse.

Rogers, Kreziguer and Contador to Attack 1 to 8k into Alpe. Rogers pace them to paulinho/Roche. Paulinho work for couple of k then rogers until after the sarenne descent, then roche until halfway up 2nd climb of d'huez... Froome follow all the way (besides for maybe a little on the sarenne descent).

not if they go fast up the first alpe in the peloton. the first group has quite bad climbers in them

I wouldn't call Riblon a bad climber. And TJ showed yesterday that he's improving
