In a dream world Movistar will decide Froome showed weakness today and will try to see if they can break him tomorrow.

In the real world, Movistar will take up Sky's job for them, and make sure Nairo stays within seconds of Contador, knowing he will take those seconds in Annency and finish 2nd.

Had these exact thoughts. Would be so great to see Movistar try and win this. Maybe if Nairo was 2 minutes closer it would've happened.

Break win I guess. Voted for Quintana in the vain hope that Movistar will attack miles out.

Dan Martin.

He said he's after stages and I haven't heard that today was anything other than losing time so he'll be allowed in the break next two days.

Long long day for me but explains my poor TT yesterday. Turned into a survival from the start. Picked up something I guess. #****happens

Far, far more dangerous stage for Froome than today's (even if he remembers that his back pockets aren't just there for the sponsors logo).

Just for a moment, forget the clinic stuff and ask yourself a question: "have you ever seen anyone with this much superiority over the field look so, so, nervous"?

Heard a lot of criticism about Saxo's tactics today, but you can understand their thinking. And any doubts about whether Froome is British or not have, for me, disappeared. The guy is undoubtedly a "Good Egg"......

Made to be cracked. ;)

It's not over.

where did you see this? He doesn't seem afraid to me? the only indication is only from his whining about alberto recklessness. If he is worry about quintana, i think, so far he got quintana in his back pocket. He always initiated the attack so he can draw quintana out and then told him to work together to distant contador. Pretty nifty tactic i might say. Even contador today's said, he didn't understand why froome attack with 12km to go. Well, my guess is that. Take quintana with froome and have him work for froome. It's a common goal at the end.

what would you people do if you were movistar DS tomorrow?

Go crazy on Glandon to try and isolate and crack Froome or play it safe and wait for Semnoz?

Froome must be alone in Madeleine. They must try that, Glandon put people in breakaways... it is the same than in Pyrinees, just the same, but tomorrow is harder. Porte could start alone Madeleine, and it is a hard day.

Alberto is goona try something, Andy and otherswill go for the stage... lot of allies.

Valverde must attack in Madeleine to crack Porte.
I think Froome could defend himself... I hope so, he deserve it, but he will lose time with Quintana and Purito... more than 5 minutes, difficult, but...If is an epic battle I dont mind the result.

I would certainely send a teammate to up the road early in the stage, and then see how Sky reacts. If the team is weakened or Froome seems overly anxious, then maybe try something early, especially to see if Saxo wants to be attacking. If Sky seem in controlled and strong, then let the breakaway rider go for the stage, and try to attack on the Croix de Fry. If I was MOvi, i would play with Saxo because i have not seen much evidence that Contador can contain Nairo, so I be confidence if i work with him that Nairo can still get away.

When I look at this profile and the Descent of the Saronne yesterday, I can't help but think how much more interesting this race would be with Nibali in it, and his descending abilities (and aggression)

For the Win, I think a Rider with getaway on the 3rd or 4th climb and end up winning, maybe a Rolland, Gadret, or Izaguirre.

Contador? Did you watch him before? Maybe if he was in 2007-2010 form he'd have a chance, but not now.

What happened 2 years ago on a thursday in the 3rd week of the tour?

If you recall that, you should know what happened the day after;)

Contador will maybe already go on la gladon. I don't think he'll be able to resist or maybe he's afraid he'll be already cooked on la madeleine :D

But movistar and katusha will prob stop it :(

Agree. Ever since he came back from his suspension, he's (generally) lacked the power to sustain his attacks.
