How does an easier finale give the break a higher chance to succeed? It's quite the opposite, since there's no reason for the sprinter teams to hold back in the final 40k (if their guy is still on board), and they can make up a lot of time there of course.

Stages that are difficult in the middle but easy in the end usually go to breaks, because if the break is strong they can get a lot of time in the middle section. If it's a hard stage throughout, the break might still get it, but there is likely to be more racing from the GC guys.

Off course if the sprinters really want it they can get it tomorrow, sure thing. But they have to get a bit organised, work together, and not let a strong break go away.

Could happen. Winning this race is more about form and fitness so an average rider with good form could win this rather easily. It's hard to say he's on form.

Daniel Martin is for sure looking at Lombardia, more than that I dunno/

Except for a few guys, everyone has the same time in GC, so teams who think they have a rider with a shot at winning the overall will keep things tight and make sure no strong break gets away. Adding a soft finale to that means sprinter teams will jump in and seal the deal even easier.

Stage tomorrow is quite easy if i look to the profile. Wil be types of Hushovd and Mezgec, even guys like Ferrari can win here. Bouhanni said that he got dropped evertime on the climb today, so it wil be difficult for him to get back-to-back wins.

nice stage today. rui costa, dan martin and mighty ivan looking good. or maybe tony will go like ullrich tomorrow :)
Gesink looked quite good too, even closing the gap on Martin in the descend.
Anyway, the youtube commentator was funny. Hyping Edmunsson quite a few times as a leader for this race, when all he was doing was hanging on the back and eventually dropping in the end

Full results show Porte lost 17 minutes. They took Porte there as leader to defend the WT rankings, as he said himself.

Wow however if Lopez or Dombrow finish in the top ten tomorrow then that will be enough as movistar would then need two guys on the podium. As it stand they need two guys in the top ten and maybe a stage win as well.

Only the top 5 count in the WT rankings so Lopez and Dombrowski aren't a factor no matter how well they do tomorrow because they don't have enough points from earlier in the season. Costa, Intxausti and Visconti are all capable of adding points for Movistar. They need 119 to go above Sky. Both Costa and Intxausti picked up a bonus second today which could be crucial considering tomorrow's stage could end with a reasonably big group together at the summit.

Bouhanni dominant again.

Couldn't find a pic from stage 3, so the stage 2 one will have to do:
