The problem with all these attacks from Contador is that all races without him seem boring :(

I disagree! Seeing Sky neutralize every stage in a race is boring! With or without Contador we would still see alot of great racing Contador just tends to light the touch-paper a hell of alot more than any other pro ;)

The thing about Contador is, that if he doesn't have the form to dominate the race or get away with the first/second attack he still has the weapon of repeated attacks. I think this is something which wears opponents out extremely...see Vuelta'12. To have to react to something like this 3 weeks long...puhhh.

damn that must've been insane.

also i watched green mountain on eurosport and that was crazy. froomey came back like a motorbike to purito.

told you that alberto will rape sky today. tirreno will be a battle like you witness only at 5 years or so.

chapeau alberto and chris!!!!
absolutely awesome racing like it should be.

The only thing he is lacking is the ability to make those attacks stick. Hopefully that will come soon :)

How exactly did he 'rape' Sky today when Froome won? And i don't think any highlights have been released of the stage yet? Or am i being a bit slow?

Why did they finish so early? :(
What happened to Nibbles? :(

Yep, this. Would have though with fair bit of descents this stage would have suited him quite nicely

He appears now only 7th in GC.

1 (1) FROOME Christopher Sky Procycling 20:04:13
2 (3) CONTADOR VELASCO Alberto Team Saxo-Tinkoff 0:27
3 (2) EVANS Cadel BMC Racing Team 0:39
4 (5) RODRIGUEZ OLIVER Joaquim Katusha Team 0:50
5 (7) NOCENTINI Rinaldo AG2R La Mondiale 1:13
6 (8) TSCHOPP Johann IAM Cycling ,,
7 (4) NIBALI Vincenzo Astana Pro Team 1:19

Anyway, great win for Froome. Unexpected.

I don't see that as a problem but a source of excitment. I got up at 5 am today hoping to read the race as it unfolded and wow what a thrill. Hate not to have the image to see this action.. Albertoooooo attacking and attacking again. Froome showing that he wants to be the top dog and responding to each attack. Clawing his way back alone each time towing Purito with them. We are in February and this will be remembered. What an exciting trio.

He raped the sky train

Well whatever happened worked in Sky's favour by the look of it Conty had worn himself right out.... He still lost to Froome where he should have won since Contador is far more explosive than Chris Froome.

What  Alberto is as slow as it gets in a sprint  It's a miracle he managed to finish second and relatively close to Froome.

Where was Wiggins? Lack of shape or not willing to ride full just for helping Froome?

Wiggins was a factor in Algarve mid February ´12, this year he isn´t yet.

Yes.. Attacks after attacks until Froome was isolated . Alberto attacked on the climb, made little gaps..he attacked on the flat and forced Froom to lead into the sprint which he almost won when I looked at the picture. Alberto is taking measure of his competition. Foome comes out in front, especially with the bonuses but I am confident that this is only the beginning of their fight

And he did show to be more explosive. Froome returned on the descent.

returned on the descent and out sprinted a rider that is supposed to be more explosive and have a bigger kick.

Sometimes it seems people here are desperate and clutching at straws i'm seeing a bit of Stolkholm Syndrome here :)

Froome will be extremely hard to beat in the Tour.

Calm down people. It is February. If things can change dramatically from June to July, I think circumstances will certainly change between now and July. Let's just enjoy the racing for what it is.
