Schillinger in the break second day in a row...

Was also in the break in Flanders last year, and is really showing nice performances in high quality races. Being German, I followed him since his Team Köstritzer U23 days, and would never have expected that he´d develop so well.

yeah that's really amazing, attacking in a group. about every pro rider can do that

and he was a pretty big u23 talent. if one thing he dispointed thoroughly since turning pro

Trying to be partial here and look at the bigger picture while everyone is in love with Contador and being completely biased.

Oh come on. Alberto is a bad sprinter period. Froome might not be great either but is probably better.

And by this logic Contador should have beaten Froome Since Conty is far more heavier than Froome i'll admit Purito should have dusted them both but Contador is supposed to be making a point this season i can't stress that enough.

That law does not apply to every sprint of course. Now you are being stupid.

God I hope with another outcome though, don't want to see Alberto getting dropped by Froome

Hehe, and Froomy surpassing his minute man in the ITT, like Rasmussen did on Valverde... His minute man A.C. ... :p;)

Contador, Froome or Rodriguez only sprint well on hills and most of the time Contador does not even win those. He wins by attacking before the sprint.

I think the Tour mountain stages will be similar to 2007:

2007: Rasmussen-Contador
2013: Froome-Contador
Froome is pretty similar to Rasmussen, in his climbing style. Will be good to watch.

Somewhere I hope that Andy Schleck will return to his old level... but I'm afraid that will be difficult.

I like Contador too ya know and fully want him to prove his critics wrong but so far it seems his rivals have put in more training time over the winter than Contador and it's showing here and don't give me that "He's only riding these races at 50% because he's aiming for the tour" So is Froome and Purito but these guys seem to be putting in a proper effort and actually winning stages.

Seems to me that Conty is really trying to win this race but obviously doesn't have it.
Look more attentively. The race was lost yesterday and today was a reminder that he is still here racing in the style that has won him 7 grand tours. It may look to you like he is desperate, to me it looks like he is getting ready for the big race and measuring his competition. Mostly if you see him after the race, you might find that he is having fun. That is what has made him a winner but also an exciting rider to watch. I love to see that Froome is also developing into a very exciting rider. This promise us a fantastic season

Are you trolling  you're blaming him for not winning stages? He tried, and he wasn't good enough. And no that doesn't have anything to do with him not putting in a proper effort or not putting in enough training time over the winter.

Ok what are the alternatives?

Who else is to blame? Either he is massively mis-judging his competitors or he just isn't superior strong like he used to be.

Pictures must make Contador look fat because Froome looks like he hasn't eaten in months.

So? I guess Alberto weighs like 60 kg in the tour, he once said that in the off season he usually gains about 4-5 kg but not more. He's not weighing 70kg at the moment  Froome may be 67kg, keep in mind he's 10cm taller than Alberto so he can still weigh more while Alberto actually looks a bit heavier

Contador is not concerning about losing the Tour of Oman, he wants to win the Tour but as he loves to compete like Evans, he gives it a shot anyway.

He wasn't good enough. He did say he didn't feel great. But saying he didn't put in enough training time over the winter while his team praises him for the way he always trains so hard seems weird.

Ok you got me there and i'll admit i don't go reading all the measurements and details of riders i usually just go off what i see and it does appear Froome looks alot lighter than Conty so i'll admit i was wrong (something alot of people here never seem to admit to  )

But i think i'm right on all the other stuff.

I have no doubt however that AC's sponsor commitments etc take up more time than Froome's. Comes with the territory

Sounds like a brilliant stage, just caught up the last 6-7 pages. Thx to everyone posting the updates on here, gives a blow-by-blow, spoiler free rundown of the stage :)

Froome will be extremely hard to beat in the Tour.

So will Contador.

We will have to agree to disagree here Flo all we can do is wait and see what happens and if Ol' Berty proves me very wrong i will issue you with a formal apology.

Contador has been lighting up the race yesterday and today. The consequence is that there's a risk of blowing up, which happened yesterday, and maybe today as well, to some extent.

If he had approached the race like Froome did, he probably could have won, but that's not his style.
