Yeh and Goss was 15 minutes back :p Would be a miraculous turnaround from getting dropped on the first climb yesterday.
Goss really sucked last year, this year he was up there on that hard circuit in the TDU.

Looked good until I saw that :D

How do you think Alberto will come 10th? Will there be gaps?

i think like Velits last year, Bertie may try and launch something on the little ramp 1 kilometre before the finish - think it's 10% or thereabouts for 200-300 metres. Might get a gap but won't maintain it to the line, but I do see him trying something like yesterday. There were sizeable gaps all the way to the down the peleton last year.

I think everyone's in agreement that Stage 5 is his to lose, even me.

Guys lets focus on race, if we dont agree we debate post our own thoughts not here to to have a go at each other.

In reply to poster earlier, yes this stage has simliar finish to stage 2 last year thats were i checked how uphill finish is, the earlier part of todays stage is more difficult and they cover more road before the end too.

When i first viewed the profiles i did say stage 3 might be for sprinters but it looks more select after further research which i corrected.

that was my reference but also the fact he didn't fight for anything yesterday in the clear hope of being fresh today. it's not that difficult a finish for him. might not totally suit him but if Bouhanni can get close, a rider very much in the mould of Goss, then he surely can.

He was hired to teach the Asians on Champion System the workings of the European peloton. How is he going to teach them anything if he keeps on going in the break? ;)

The arrogance he showed on that stage was bound to backfire some time. I'm not sure if doing it in the Tour of Oman really bothers him though.

how to crash?

Good morning cycling fans.

Top 10 today? For me, they might as well not have turned up. It's a Sagan gift stage. But I hope Gianni Meersman goes well. His type of finish.

1. Peter Sagan
2. Gianni Meersman
3. Tony Gallopin
4. Matt Goss
5. Nacer Bouhanni
6. Daryll Impey
7. Arnold Jeanesson
8. Philip Gilbert
9. Peter Velits
10. Alberto Contador

Think Gilbert might fancy his chances today, assuming he has any form

Thread getting a bit vicious especially veering into personal insults, time to take a cup of tea, a bex and then bite the tongue before you incur a short holiday from mod less lenient than I.

And try to keep on topic...Tour of Oman??

Boonen is pulling the peloton.

Elpist must be going crazy and i'm sure he'll explain us how impressive it is :D

It's pretty good though.

Ask Gesink what injury he'd rather have had ;)

You're just too easy to bait. Don't worry, Tommeke will be okay for the classics. Not as good as last year, probably, but yeah... you can't have 'em all.
He probably might answer with an ancient chinese proverb: "one boil on one's as@ is more painful than a thousand broken bones in your adversary" (extremely liberal translation on my part without Google help)

not too surprising. looks like Contador had a go where Velits did last year and got nabbed close home ?

Sagan, impressive again. Surprised Meersman isn't in that group of 10 even.
