Tony's view...
"I was surprised in a positive way about the parcour," Martin said. "When I checked the profile at the beginning of La Vuelta I thought it was too hard with the climb in the middle, Alto de Moncayo (Category 3). But today we went there and it is actually not so bad. The first 7 kilometers are a bit up and down, and then there's the climb. But it's not really super steep. I think this is a TT for the climbers, but I can still have my chance. I will give it a try. Also the descent following the climb is really fast, not so technical, and the last 10 kilometers are flat and slowly downhill. So that is good for me and my power. It's also a matter of distributing my effort throughout the parcour. I think this will be good training for me leading up to Worlds, and I will do my best for a good result."

Im trying to be upbeat but i know i've got no chance of winning

J Rod to surprise with fifth to 10th on day, Martin to win, Cancellara might not even come 2nd, Nibali jersey, Horner to 2nd 3rd or 4th.

(At least one of them has to be right, no?)

The only one that will be right is your prediction regarding Canc.

I don't understand why so much people think Nibali is going to take the jersey back. Nibbles isn't that splendid in tt, and Horner did some really nice tt's in the past (especially hilly ones). With this kind of form, i wouldn't be surprised if Chris actually get some time.

In Giro first ITT he put one minute into Wiggo after 26 km hilly ride and best time overall intermediate, finishing 4th after 54k. He smashed everybody in second MTF. Given the profile he should be one of the favorites.

Martin 1st, Cancellara 2nd. Underdog of the day: Kangert.

Considering his results this year, calling Kangert underdog might be bit too much. After 2-3 favoruites, he's the next name on the list with chance to win this.

i don't think that Nibali will fight for the first position tommorow..i'm not sure that he beats Horner also.
we'll see it...like Bugno said..

Sure. You mean Tony and Canc to finish both ahead of Nibali, right? My money is on that.

Bring it on.
Tony and Canc ahead of all the others but I am not sure about Nib and Hon. I have a feeling Nib will beat Honer but I am not sure if he will beat him enough to grab the red jersey

Well that giro tt was technical first half which is why Nibali did so well.

He has improved his tt a lot of course and that was also a reason why he did so well there but another way to look at it is that he was on the form of his life, with a tt that suited him really well and still only came 4th so with a less suited tt and not being in the form of his life, he shouldn't be quite so good tomorrow.

Of course, the ITT had to be hilly.

Not like there's any good reason for it not to be.

I honestly wonder. Just when did the standard TT became a pan-flat course?

What are you talking about?

Eyeballing a climb marked as 350m for 9000m, and rounding down. My apologies it was 3.8%. Calling it a 600m climb as some have, then you have to give it take the full length to go through 600m which is 18000=3% or more realistically, I think it's 530/12100 4.3%.
