Impressive to see Quaade land 6 place in his first WC pro TT debut and partically on this length (and not least with a puncture ewen thow it wouldnt have changed anything in class // edit ' it cost exactly 17 seconds)

Just arrived, so haven't seen anything.

How d'ya measure the loss?

To me, the loss consists of (at least) 5 things

1) running on flat tyre
2) breaking (decelration)
3) the stop itself (new bike/wheel)
4) accelleration
5) to find the rythm again

Especially the last thing can be extremely costly. So if the 17s refers only to 3), Rasmus Quaade would've easily been beating Phinney, though still far from podium.

That said, this course suited Quaade even better than Der Panzerwagen.

Regarding WT-contract, I think Rasmus still have to prove himself in fields in RRs at highest level. I think thats why ppl like Riis, JV et al. are still hesitating. Remember Quaade already proved his abilities on a global level in Geelong 3 years ago and might've been U23 TT champ haven't it been for a crash. I recall he was leading on the split times before his crash by then.

Impressive performance by Quaade. Didn't think he'll transform his u 23 results in to the Pro's this quickly. Surprised by Turbo Durbo's omission by the Aussies. He surely would have cracked the Top 10.
You sure about that? His form the last few months didn't really merit a selection.

The guy seems to be able to do one thing, and one thing only: TT on a medium to long flat course.

One of the best things about having a german as a winner, is the national anthem. Deutschland Über Alles is such a beautiful "lied"

That part of the lyrics hasn't been the national anthem since 1945 though.

Looking at todays winner I would say that is enough. Besides he is still only a kid with a bright future.

Unfortunately I didn't see it.
But, yeah! :)

Also, he looks kinda freaky when he's done with a TT!

expected more of wiggo but tony was just untouchable. to ride 53 km/h for more than one hour = brutal stuff.

Of course he's young, but there has to be a reason why someone like Riis won't sign him. And the fact that he's pretty one-dimensional could be one.

He can be the next Bert Grabsch ! At least OPQS should take a punt on him.

I really liked the GPS thingy, it made things much more interesting. And with the course being flat the GPS looks to be quite accurate.

Impressive of Quaade. He said he punctured just before the 2nd intermediate. He said he only lost about 20 seconds.

As for Phinney, being an american he is massively overhyped, but this seems to be about his level right now. He will no doubt improve as he gets older. If he can survive the overhyping that is.;)

I don't think Phinney is over hyped as a TT rider. Look at who is beating him : Wiggo, Cancellara, Martin. He is being beaten by the best.

I'd love to have Ryo reading what Colombian forums are saying about Infantino, Leguizamo and Duarte.

Fabu has the edge in the final technical section so I doubt Wiggo can overtake him for silver. Could be close though.

?????????The 'final technical section'/'last technical part' did not
favour 'Fabu'/'Cance' in 2011 that's for certain, but not sure if it
made any difference in 2013.

Of course it didn't. Wiggo was faster than Cance, so I was wrong.

Basically that it was a horrible performance, they are not comparing him to Martin, but to the Chilean Oyarzun that beat Infantino for 5 minutes (and was beaten by Casas in 2011).
It was later explained that Infantino developed hemorrhoids during the race (not sure if this is possible). Leguizamo said bringing Infantino was a prize for good local performances (from cyclinginquisition.com)

People is also questioning who/why was fitting Infantino's bike in Italy if he was supposed to have one in Colombia.
The critics are extended to the national federation for having such a poor race design with "girly" ITTs

Also Leguizamo is also bashed for not letting Lorena Vargas run her ITT.

Regarding Fabio Duarte, it's a total different story, his talent is recognized but there is no love for the guy lately.

They don't grow like coconuts on trees but yes they can get a lot worse if you already have them and ride a bike for one hour.
