This really is a very unpredictable stage, and it can end up with almost anything. There are so many variables that is in play, weather, form, injuries, team orders/tactics etc.
I also forgot all about EBH but also he was in the tarmac yesterday, so again, predictions is just like the lottery.
And now the weather might have an impact to, the early starters could have rain to begin with.

Hope Evans doesn't do too well, and Pozzovivo can limit losses.

He is almost smiling, he be fine...:)

So I really don't know. Obviously most of the GC guys should do well but who else can challenge? Zoidl maybe?

Zoidl would have been my pick (for top5 today) - he can climb and he knows how to ride a TT bike
But he's been struggeling with some kind of stomach infection the last couple of days, so he tweeted that he has to look from one day to the other...

Also, I think he might has to save his strenghth for the high mountains and helping Kiserlovski keeping his GC position.

Bit of a weird one this one. Like the sprinting ranks in this Giro. Thin pickings. No real specialists more a battle of the GC riders. If Hesjedal has been sandbagging and thinking of a stage win I think he is a chance otherwise Evans, Castroviejo, Uran and Quintana to fight it out. Pozzo should also do okay but the next TT should be much better for him. Rogers preferred to do his TT yesterday but might do okay anyway. Sanchez will probably soft pedal and save himself for the mountains depending on how well he feels. I'm surprised people are mentioning De Gendt. He is actually in the race is he ? Weening and Kelderman may do alright as well.

Ohh the good old Hesjedal can TT myth. Good to see that some things never die:D

What do people think about Boasson Hagen for tomorrow. Today was his birthday and he did not join the break. Was he saving himself for stage 12?

The same can be said about Pirazzi. He has had some decent ITTs. Anyone think he could pull off a good result?
He wasn't saving himself, he tried to get into several breakaways but none were let go. In the finale he was also involved in that big crash.

But really, based on his TT in Dauphine last year, he should be one of the big favourites today (particularly if Malori is injured). Problem is, he usually only goes hard in two time trials a year - the one in Dauphine, and the Norwegian championships.

Instead he'll probably be saving energy so that he's ready to lead out Ben Swift tomorrow.

If he repeated last year's TT in this race that would probably be good enough here with a likely favourable draw

Evans (7th) -
Uran @ 1:09
Kelderman @ 1:18
Pozzovivo @ 1:55
Aru @ 2:05
Majka @ 2:58

Kelderman fell in that ITT and had to ride the remainder of the time trial with a ; 'slepend wiel' (don't know how to translate that properly)
He could've done much better then

Even though Evans is not my favourite rider it would be awesome if he won the giro, just to show whos the boss :D

Wont win though, not as long as RoboBasso is in the race.

The GC rider I have been most impressed with so far has been Pozzovivo, it looks good for him when you look at the last week, even the MTT.

Quintana warns he hasn't recovered at all and still feels terrible

If Quintana really isn't getting better than this might become a really interesting Giro. I mean if Quintana is feeling great he will likely just drop everyone on every final climb, but now it will be open. Or just Evans hanging on the wheels every stage without anyone able to drop him and everyone is afraid to lose their GC placing and nothing happens.

oh wel..

I don´t know what Basso should or could do against Evans, it´s more likely the other way around. ;)
