I don't agree - the pace was already high before the crash and they were already in the ascent.
But what's even more disturbing - where was Quintana's try for getting back?
He had more helpers than Evans and also the riders from other teams were riding in front, but he didn't really gain any time.
I think some of the GC contenders were simply badly placed and should have been further up front.
Regardless of today's results - the Giro isn't over yet, so let's wait and see what the next stages will bring
