There's a difference between continuing to ride and an attack. When the camera cut back to them it looked like they putting in a big dig.

I don't agree - the pace was already high before the crash and they were already in the ascent.


But what's even more disturbing - where was Quintana's try for getting back?
He had more helpers than Evans and also the riders from other teams were riding in front, but he didn't really gain any time.

I think some of the GC contenders were simply badly placed and should have been further up front.

Regardless of today's results - the Giro isn't over yet, so let's wait and see what the next stages will bring

I saw both in the first group I'm pretty sure, Majka 100%. Maybe they got bikes from teammates? The results put McCarthy in the group of favorites, that seems highly unlikely to me.

Roche and Majka listed at 15min back. Seems wrong. Has to be bike swaps involved. Lots of people saw Majka in second group.

Well, this just opened up the race completely, I hope Purito stays in the race, he could make a real mess if he want to.
Prediction: BMC have only one thing to look forward to = PAIN.

Thought I saw Majka in the front group alright but I don't think the other was Roche, looked more liked Rogers and that's who is listed but we'll find out soon enough

I'm normally in favour of keep racing when someone crash, but this time I'm not sure.

To people saying you need to stay in front: I agree, but we're talking a 150 men peloton here, there are 20 captains trying to stay in front with their teammates. Its a big mess. Why is that? Because you design a panflat stage with a bump in the end. In the first week. Nobody is gonna drop before the final climb. No contender is already out of the GC. And they all want to stay in front.

Plus, these roads suck big time. And you put a roundabout with plenty of road forniture a couple of km before hitting the climb. Look at Brajko's crash. It's scary, he could have died there. Really this first week is horribly designed. Its nonsense.

Naaa, in my opinion they didnt do anything wrong, its cycling.
But it still opened the race up, we should expect more action now.
