The flatness of Roubaix doesn't force selection like the hills in Flanders though, so he'll have a rider from every squad hanging on his back wheel. And then the inevitable attacks on him on the last sectors.

There are so many variables I could be totally wrong and it just doesn't matter. I love this race!!!!

it's a sprinter's race, really. like the scheldeprijs. marcel kittel, ftw!

I expect a bike toss from Wiggo worthy of a knight of the empire.

didn't you hear? he's been sanctified by the vatican. you have to call him "Saint Wiggo" now!

they're calling him the patron saint of marginal gains.

Vanmarcke is putting the final touches on his prep:

If boonen can't win i hope vanmarcke wins it.

Really deserves it and he's also a genuinely nice guy.

first time in years I'm not hoping for rain.
Thomas-Wiggo prefer dry conditions

At face value, Sky has a really strong trio of riders in EBH, Thomas, and Wiggins. If it all came together they'd make quite a formidable force; hoping it happens to liven up the race and put pressure on Cancellara.

Pippo Pozzato will get the win in this one!!! On a more serious note I think Cancellara will take another win eaither by entering solo on the velodrome or beatin Vanmarcke at sprint one more time.

OPQS desperately needs the victory. Boonen seems to be lacking the endurance for the complete race at high intensity. Cancellara and Vanmarcke will most probably have to rely on themselves.
So, the Sunday's plot looks obvious. One of the Steppers in each brake of the day, putting the pressure on Trek and Belkin, trying to afford a free ride to their executor Boonen.
And an important detail... OPQS needs to make the race. They shouldn't wait for the others to do it for them. When it happened last Sunday - they've played the wrong card.

Agreed. BMC played Flanders as good as possible. I'm thinking they will do the same Sunday.

I'm hoping some of the smaller-budget teams are on the sharp end of racing again.

I hope for Hushovd, but I think Vanmarcke or Cancellara take this one. Hushovd have not showed much so far in the classics but he usually do well in P-R, so I think he will get a top ten if he avioids accidents.

Wheel sucking Cance on a flat cobbled road is the only way one can win Robuaix.

I don't see much stronger rider on flat than Cance ( maybe Tony but he doesnt ride cobbled races )

Looking forward to this soooooo much. If Sepp is indeed in the last few km with Cancellara, I hope he has rethought his tactics!!

According to this, Stijn Devolder is troubled too much by last week's bruises and won't start. Boy van Poppel will ride PR instead. This might well mean Cancellara will be on his own a lot earlier in the race. Will it really decrease his chances of winning, though?
