Kazistuta and I have in fact six riders in common, so if this trend continues it might come down to Haussler, Voigt, Ji vs. Valls, Bonnet, Kadri Very early days yet but still...

At the moment, your lead on projected scores is essentially one mountain point.

And he could have. All he needed to do was to close all the gaps and keep on riding so he would finish in the same time as the winner - even if he comes in last in that group he would take yellow. Maybe the possible stage win + green jersey points was more important to him than yellow. He is a huge talent but I slowly start to doubt his tactical skills. Why on earth does he makes himself so prominent at the front in the last kilometers? He never gets any help because he is the superior sprinter. Why is he not just sitting on the back of the group ans stays out of sight as much as he can and let the others do their games and pounce at the end? Or attacks and goes solo like Nibali. A guy with so much talent should win more big races but in my opinion he doesn't ride clever in those events.

i wont blame sagan too much there. he was marking Nibali till that time. Nibali was smart and attacked from the right direction and with speed.

Sagan-ites have time to earn points till stage 9 now.

He can't chase down everything on his own and I think he tried what you suggested. A 100% GC threat attacked a group of GC favourites and he said it was up to them to chase it down. They said you are the fastest you chase. Had somebody like Albasini or Fulsang gone he chased it but that was up to the GC guys (or their doms) to chase down Nibs

He is now almost a lock for the top two barring crashes/illness and I would never have expected him to have scored 195 points (Fuglsang should be ashamed to take 15 points away from Nibali BTW) by the end of stage 5.

Now Contador needs to wake up so that you and I can beat the Kittel+Nibali teams.

More seriously, I'm not huge on changing/adding to the rules after the game has started. Besides it's a bit early to look at a tiebreaker between Afrank and me. Contador or Nibali may crash out of contention, just like Froome did, for all we know or Kittel sweeping the flat stages might just be enough for the Kittel+Nibali team to beat Nibali+Contador. Leaving all those considerations aside, do we really want to break the tie ? We certainly didn't consult each other before making our teams but the results is that we end up with virtually the same team. As far as I'm concerned, my team is the same as Afrank's and I already consider it's a tie between us regardless of what the score will be at the end of the Tour. Even if Pate and Schillinger outscore Ji and Bideau, I certainly won't feel like I have 'beaten' Afrank. I already find it a bit silly that 'filler' picks might decide the outcome of the game, no need to add artificial rules to arbitrarily make one team lose.

If tiebreaker rules are put into effect, I would like for them to be enforced only from the Vuelta forward because as I said, I don't think it's a good idea to change the rules after the start of the game.

seriously though, i dont think we should ever talk about tie breaking at all. having just points is the only sane way to plan this game. if u impose the tie-breaker-by-position constraint, then it will force ppl to make unwanted tradeoffs.

Seriously now though, I'd be fine with sharing the podium if it comes down to that. And I got to say, I would have put a lot more effort and thought into my filler picks if I knew they might end up deciding the winner. But that's part of what makes this game so good. Even the most minor of picks might win you the game. Just goes to show, every pick counts.
