yeah. Orders by Riis I think. He wants Majka to conserve energy to win the stage (and get 40 points on the last climb), and not waste to much energy fighting Purito on the first climbs.

Or he simply doesnt have the legs. time will tell.

Great stage so far.

Pure fiction. Why would he have followed him in the first place?

And to be honest he did help Durbridge get going again after he pushed him, which was classy.

Not to mention that he's doing what pretty much everyone else does at the top of a climb, try and get bottles to his team, Durbridge should've been more aware.

Oh come on, In the middle of the road? He should be on the edge of the road like most others. Durbo had no chance there!

Looked like he was in the middle of the road. No excuse. He should not be allowed to hand out any more bottles

Because that was what was the young inexperienced rider decided to do, and then the experienced DS told him to conserve his energy till later.

Yesterday Riis said that the key to the mountain jersey is to win the stage. The first 3 give 10 points each (30 points in total) and the last one gived 40 points alone. If they waste energy fighting eachother and Nibali then they havent achirved anything. Riis's plan seems to be the stage first and foremost and then the KOM-jersey will follow as a consequence. Big plan, big risk, but also possible big reward.

It's actually even more unbalanced than that I believe: 50 points for the stage winner.
