Chevrères is so steep (a 14,9% km after a 10% one) I cannot see how the GC attacks can start at Belles Filles. It should be each on his own from that on...

I think a break will take it. They miss Hernandez and Mørkøv, Tosatto and Bennati will be dropped on the first climbs, so that leaves them with Paulinho to control it for over 70km, which ain't gonna happen. I think they'll wait for the penultimate climb with Paulinho doing as much as he can and then Rogers to go over the top and lead them to the next climb, where he, Majka and Roche will go Postal.LaFlorecita said:

He tends to get bored when the pace is too slow and he is eager to go bananas on the mountains.

This stage has been quite hyped probably because of the huge gap Nibali has on everybody else. I have to say I'm also really looking forward to it: I started following cycling with the 2009 Tour, with the mighty Alberto in the peak of his powers and with Nibali as an up and coming star that already back then had huge balls trying to sneak to the podium on Ventoux by following Andy and Velasco.
For today, I expect a smal quality break to go all the way, Lotto pulling a bit on the front, Saxo doing the biggest amount of work and Astana basically getting a free ride. Unless something else happens, I don't see anyone else messing with them. Maybe Movistar if Valverde feels good but I doubt it, it's not his style.

Just saw interview with Rolf after he rode the finish. The penultimate climb sounds dangerous. I think the race will blow apart here.

Probably Pierre Roland. However, in terms of order of the GC guys coming in, first will cross Contador, then Nibali. I think Richie will lose at least 1 minute today.

I think the best tactics for Movistar is to stay quiet as a mouse and save their riders until they know who the strongest out of Nibali and Contador will be.
At this stage I do not think there is any reason for Movistar to do anything but sit back and watch the battle royale unfold !

Time for El Pistolero to show his climbing legs,will put 20-30 secs into Nibali/Porte/Valverde here.
I feel he needs to get a move on now,he's talking about making the time back in the Pyrenees but this stage is a good opportunity for him now.
