Whats up with Bakelants? I read he tried once before but they did not let him go? There are only a few stages left that suit him. Or are OPQS going with Kwiatkowski/Trentin again?
I doubt Trentin can survive here- they should focus on trying to let Kwiatowski salvage his TDF (bit harsh since he tried to gain time/ has placed well but...) and get a stage win.

they will get nice gap, then cannondale will start working and give pretty fast pace on the first two climbs, they will catch them but then all green except sagan will dissapear, he will stay with best 12 climber from which, one will defeat him in the end.

As there are no previous winners in the race 2014 will see the seventh different winner in seven years (giving 2010 to Andy Schleck). This hasn't happened since 1938 when Gino Bartali followed Lapebie, Sylvere Maes, Roman Maes, Magne, Speicher and Leducq.

These are the only two such runs in the race's history

Many serious riders tried in the first 25km, but everybody wanted to go with them. Too easy to bridge on flat terrain. Finally the top dogs gave up and we have 3 PCT riders in front.

The upside to a weak break here is the guaranteed action we get later. Very easy to pull this break back considering the hills at the end.

Hell we may even see GC action, who knows.

I wasnt talking about todays stage with my Bakelants-comment. I meant he only tried to attack on one stage before. And at that time it was not allowed and he never tried again so far. :(

I reckon there are a fair few people waiting for the first slopes to start and then they will really lift the pace to try and drop as many of the Cannondale/OGE riders as possible, then start the attacks on the climbs thereafter.

Talansky is 40 seconds behind the peloton, so it looks as if he will struggle to finish this Tour.

The gap had been well under 4 minutes, but it is now up at 4.10.

Greipel and Kittel led the peloton over the sprint point. With Sagan getting just 11th place.
