Gallopin straight into the arms of women's pro Marion Rousse, his girlfriend. She missed out on selection for Lotto's Giro team, hence why she's there for him.

Almost better than a yellow jersey.

It was a fail specially considering that after Martin was gone, Paulinho was doing nothing in the break. It doesn't matter though because Nibali will have to take the jersey back tomorrow.

Not bad for a guy that can't do anything but flat TTs and can't even climb a highway bridge. At least that's what the "experts" on this board have told us for years:rolleyes:

It's not that the guy can't climb, it's that he can't climb the steep stuff consistently enough to become a full on GC rider, he's still dangerous from the break, just like he was in 2009.

Why? Tinkoff was going to control tomorrow's stage anyway, and Nibali will get the jersey back tomorrow.

Whatever. Everyone around here knows Martin can climb a little bit just as we know he's fully capable of doing what he did today. I doubt anyone is overly surprised at today's result.

Don't forget Machado.

Some brilliant plans today from brave and aggressive riders.
Exactly as it should be.

Martin: "I told De Marchi to take the KOM points so that maybe he could be in that jersey today."
What a champion! :)

That may be what he said, but either he's wrong or she's working covering the Tour for a local station given that she wasn't picked for the Giro. Take it from me: she's a professional cyclist, she rides for Lotto Belisol Ladies as seen below:

They don't know a lot of the male riders, can't imagine they are familiar with the female peloton

Cant see Gallopin and the boys grinding it out at thge front on tomorrows stage, still Astana's race to control, should have ditched the bib after the cobbled stage.
As for Tony Martin, his first open road victory. Brill.

Is that really his first road win?! I could have sworn he had some others to go with his near misses in Frankfurt and the Vuelta. I see he has a few as a junior in the Giro delle Regioni, Thüringen Rundfahrt etc.; he won Hel van het Mergelland (1.1) in 2008... a stage of the Tour de Suisse in 2009...

Not sure I'm keen on the Panzerwagen hat.
