Surprised by him, very nice performance but i am not expecting to see him fight for a GC top 10.

I wasn't very impressed with Costa to be honest

I mean...Contador goes to the front and then Froome does an accelleration from 2.5 ks out (where the F was he going in that situation?).

He set Nibali up perfectly, while Contador was seeing the condition, that's all, of his rivals, because, unlike Nibali, he doesn't need to gain seconds on stages like this. (No offense to Nibali).

In the overall economy of the race, however, now Nibali has a responsibility that Contador doesn't. Nibali's motivation will be sky high, Contador will be content with how the end played out...but what the F was Froome thinking? That he could just ride away on a pimple like that?

I love how u guys deride froome for being boring and then deride him every time he attacks

I thought he wanted a good car position, now one of his biggest rivals will have the best car position on the cobble stage.

:p:D

Only Sagan and van avermat had anything to gain by hauling nibbles in. Too early for gc guys to take yellow

Only reason any of the gc guys attacked on the last climb was to test each other out.

True but they still love to win stages and Nibali had never won a stage here before

Man, if some leader had countered after the massacre dished out by the Garmins at 30ks, it could have been legendary, but once Slagter was spent Froome and other were happy to use their teammates defensively rather than aggressively.

Rolland displays his big balls again, only loses 16 seconds or so, peanuts in the big picture, trying to give himself a chance to win a stage. This is how you ride.

Great win from Nibali, his team won't lift a finger in the coming days anyway : the Giants and Lottos and Cannondales are the ones who will do the work. First real work for Astana (if they still have the jersey which probably won't be the case after stage 5) would be the Gerardmer stage anyway.

One big massive thank you to the Garmins, without them nothing would have happened until Jenkin Road.

What I meant with the climb being overrated was that I thought the stage win wouldn't be contested by ~25 men

The thing is the stage was too slow earlier on.

No, I'm pretty sure he just did it because he likes to descend in first place. He's done that previously too.
