For one, this is a pretty regular result for Costa on a flattish TT. Also, he's more of a diesel and of course he won't lose proportionally as much in a long TT.

Well he isn't climbing any better than Kwia and he is time trialist much worse than him, and Kwia isn't even a podium contender for the Tour so i would say this is looking pretty bad for him

Also nice time trial for Contador. Can't wait to see how he does tomorrow on the Malhão.

Distance has got to be wrong... 57-58 kph is impossible unless it was downhill

And consider most of the times they had headwind, since they were heading to the sea.

The last half of the course was mostly downhill.

Costa lost 25 seconds on the first 7 minutes and 9 on the last 7 minutes of the course so he had a very bad start.

Again, would have really liked to see the action today. Kwia a bit stronger than expected for me, but we might be looking at something very special here. Only time will tell.

Parcours highly raceable. If it ends in a uphill sprint, the riders are to blame imo.
