Based on the previous post of Coat-O, the first 20 km are uphill and downhill. Giving the descender qualities of Purito, i doubt he will lose time there on Gesink (rather winning).

So then there are 18 km left for Gesink to make up 49 seconds. Rather difficult to make up for Gesink imo.

It's not a very pronounced descent though, nor technical. The steepest part is no more than 3 kilometers.

edit: Now that I look at it better, there are some tight bends and the roads are very narrow. You have a point, we'll see. :)

I don't think this ITT will produce significant gaps.
1.Contador or Froome
3.Uran
4.Valverde
5.Quintana
6.Purito

Purito will not lose more than 1:30 to Froome and Contador.Contador,Froome,Uran and Valverde will be all betwen 30 or 45 seconds.

Tony Martin for the stage win.
Froome and Contador within 10 seconds of each other.

I'm curious to see how close 2014 Uran can get to Panzerwagen here.

Slightly off topic. Does anybody know what happened to the Giro stage 12 thread? I just did a search for it, but it doesn't seem to exist any more.

Some days ago I dreamt the result of this stage for whatever reason.

It went like this:

1.) TMartin
2.) Malori 1:11
3.) Cancellara 1:13

Contador 2:34

Froome 2:50

Quintana 4:02

Don't think it's realistic though, the gaps are too big.

I wonder what gearing Martin will use considering the superfast finishing third of the course.
That's where Quintana can lose the most, speaking about the GC contenders.
Also, it's going to be interesting to see if (where/when) Froome will catch Rodriguez and whether Contador will go for the jersey.
I think he'll be able to choose knowing the rivals' times and assessing his own form.
I'm not expecting significant gaps between the overall contenders. Only Rodriguez outside of a minute from Contador/Froome.

He is known to be able to climb well on a high gear. He has Duracell in his thighs.

The section with crosswinds is downhill. Just put a soigneur at the summit and hand the riders a bottle full of lead pellets

Under normal conditions Froome would put 2 + minutes into Contador but Froome did not look good on stage 9 and Contador looks to be riding very well. I think anything can happen even Contador taking time out of Froome. Like this entire GC part of the Tour everything is completely wide open.

My expectations are:

Martin:
Froome +1:30
Uran 1:45
Contador +2:00
Kelderman & Valverde 2:30
Gesink 3:00
Quintanta & Aru +3:30
Purito +4:00
Anacona +5:00

I'll go with your dream. :D Suits me well enough. As long as AC manages somehow to put time into Froome....ya the more I think about that happening the more I see its just dreaming. :)

also had a dream where alberto attacked, i was on the moto camera, cheered him up, said that he already has 20 seconds lead. but then he suddenly decided that it's better to wait on the others(???? lol) and he crashed in the middle of the group, and it was an absolutely silly crash trust me. of course it wasn't a dream about tomorrow's stage. and hopefully not about the others to come lol

It's not similar to in TT in the Tour 13' (which was harder), it's similar to the TT in the Vuelta 12. The climb is just in the beginning instead of in the middle.

1. Kessiakoff
2. Contador
3. Froome
4. Valverde
5. Intxausti
6. Porte
7. Rodríguez
8. Meyer
9. Talansky
10. Castroviejo 1:34

And it's shorter, so the gaps are not going to be huge. No one in the GC is going to lose 4 minutes.
