They're going to miss all of Martin's ride as well. Typically poor and inflexible coverage for the Vuelta.

On an additional note, the top 30 or so are starting at 2 min gaps. That will give Froome a great rabbit to chase (Anacona) and overtake during the flatter section.

I hope Contador has a good TT and Valverde a TT like in the Tour. Then he might also have a rabbit to chase :D

Big time gaps can be made today. If Froome rediscovers his alien mode he'll crush every GC contender with perhaps the exception of Contador.

I am with Ryo on this one.

Contador is 177 and weights around 62/63 so no way in hell Quintana is 10cm shorter and only 3 kg's lighter. Hell Costa is 183 and is around 63/64. . .

I just think this entire "he told me himself" thing is BS.

I love Vuelta technical glitches

1. Degenkolb 115 24' 34''
2. Cancellara 211 + 12' 03''
3. Sergent 216 + 12' 45''

Degenkolb eating rocket fuel (or how time checking system screwed up)

Cancellara is the fastest at the 1st time check. Dennis at 7", Sergent at 8", Bodnar at 9".
There seems to be a problem with the 2nd time check on the lavuelta.com website.
At the finish, Sergent is fastest by 54" ahead of Malori. Cancellara and Dennis and Sergent haven't finished yet.

I guess Cancellara is 42" ahead of Sergent at the second time check.

It won't be enough to get a spot on the podium, I don't think.
