If Quintana he's in fine condition, this Vuelta is far from over.

Tinkoff-Saxo doesn't have team to control the race, Movistar and Katusha could really give us a fantastic Vuelta.

But off course is main favorite now, already was for me before Vuelta started and it's becoming to payoff on GGTG and CQ games.

Luckily i could see the final of the TT.

Horrible about Quintana of course. But it should make this Vuelta even more interesting. If Nairo isn't injured seriously, we could have a fantastic fight. Froome and Quintana have to attack from further out, while Movistar can play their tactics against Contador.

Tinkoff has got a weak team in the mountains, so it will be really difficult for Contador. Remember Katusha is also really strong, who are able to set up something in the mountains stages.

Purito rode a good TT! He's still within reach of Alberto, so you knever know what's left in store. But if he wants to win this Vuelta, he has to show more balls then he normally does.

AC is 8th in CQ between purito and quintana.

Is winning a vuelta that prestigious? Mean mean Horner did it last year and barely got signed to a WT team after.

CQ is a for fun ranking. In the UCI ranking (which is also for fun but more official) AC is 2nd after Piti.

BTW, winning la vuelta is prestigious. Not only because doing so will give AC 1st place in the UCI ranking.

so evans is currently a better rider than purito because he's world champion and tour winner?

No, because Evans is 37-38 years old, while Contador is 31. A rider in his late 30s on the cusp of retiring. Going by his results this year, Contador is still in his prime. 2013 was an off year, obviously as he posted no notable results for the entire season. 2014 Contador has shown little difference in ability as to the 2007-11 Contador. He's still near the top of his game.

No, its because he beats him on every single uphill finish, dropped him twice already in this Vuelta alone, is far superior in ITT, much more exciting rider.....
anything else I forgot?

Oh yeah, all that with Nairo having perfect preparation, no injuries, prep race, etc. while Berto comes off of an injury after which it wasnt even certain he will be able to ride the Vuelta.

Seriously man, what the hell are you trying to say here......

best stage so far, pretty dramatic stuff

no way is vuelta over, not even for nairo, he can bounce back big time
also, looking at the way he recovered, samu sanchez can be a big danger for podium i think. i think froome will go worse and worse sadly

Disappointed with the time gaps today. Obviously just the way the cards have been dealt, with Quintana crashing and Froome definitely not in very good form. Great ride by Uran and a good ride by Contador. Hoping that Froome's form will improve and Quintana will become more daring, otherwise we are in for another GT procession.

uy dura la crono pero satisfecho por las sensaciones, pinchazo en mal momento pero podría haber sido peor!! Ánimo @NairoQuinCo

So Purito had a flat tire during the TT. That confirms he rode a fantastic TT. I think that cost him some 20 seconds.

lol @ people thinking conatdor is now a sure winner. the guy focussed all on tour and it didn;t happen which means his form curve will go downwards similar to valverde. only bad thing is if quyinbtana is injured now. if not and he's in top form he can still win but doubtful he's not injured. also uran is back in gc and should only improve and we still have froome to laugh at every day

This. :D Quintana has no serious injuries, but it's of course highly likely that he will still feel something of it tomorrow :(

How do you figure that? I can only see an exciting Vuelta from now on :D
With the time lost today, Quintana can attack from long range knowing that Valverde is only 27 seconds down. JRod and Froome are also not that far behind and suddenly Mick Jagger is back in the game again.

Contador has the weakest team of all the GC contenders with only Zaugg and the ever inconsistent Hernandez being somewhat good in the mountains. CAS is far from the strength he had in his prime, and the rest of the team basically consists of rouleurs/puncheurs

I didn't think Quintana was sure to win before the Vuelta.

And I don't think he is sure to lose now that he had this disastrous day.

If he is as good as some people clearly think, he has a chance.

Very, very nice ride by Uran. I got that right.

Very, very nice ride by Valverde. I got that wrong!

You did know i said WT right?

It can't be over at all.

Normally Contador must have at least one bad day with coming back from an injury and his bad team. That shouldn't mean that he is gonna lose the Vuelta overall, but he clearly is going to crack and suffer at any point like at the Giro 2008. So it should still be entertaining under normal circumstances.

If what your saying is discount everything in the past he as done, their no need to in the present and this year Contador has more WT points than Quintana he also beat Quintana. Way you are going on is Quintana is hard done by the guy got dropped by Froome for crying out loud Contador has been stronger than him ALL YEAR.

Just had the opportunity to watch some videos and, I've got to say, that Quintana crash could have been a lot nastier. It could have easily been the end of his Vuelta.

Often, a rider that crashes like that loses some freshness, but I guess we'll have our answer tomorrow on the San Miguel de Aralar.
