Movistar Twitter has already confirmed it, another crash in the peloton involving Nairo, he tried to continue but was distanced by the peloton and gave up :(

So the number two favourite crashed out of the Giro, the two big favourites crashed out of the TDF and the nr 1 favourite crashed out of the Vuelta.

What a year :(
Being able to avoid crashes isn't always possible but if you can reduce the frequency, it helps.

No Quintana is sad. He was the x-factor who could go long and carve up a race. Things are far simpler for Contador now.

Sympathies to him and his fans. I know the feeling.

As for the race i felt that he could added a little more extra given that Froome is far and away and wont bounce back. Whats now? watching Piti and Purito go for bonus seconds. Yay.

Valverde might be dangerous because of the bonus seconds.

Contador crushed piti sunday, and contador will get better while piti most likely won't.

Contador post-broken leg to dominate the Vuelta. Valverde to wheelsuck his way to 2nd place. Purito to podium.

2012 Vuelta called to say we already did that.

Sammy Sanchez is fresher than all of them. He will be strong in the third week considering he has peaked for this and this is his goal.

As much as I like Sanchez, I think when he's our best hope of some excitement things are pretty bad.

Some times those epic wins makes you forget anything about whether or not its a guy you normally root for. Thats one of the most beautiful things about cycling for me.

Indeed. Epic cycling is epic cycling no matter who is doing the riding. Heck little Rabbotini's solo ride, fall and win is etched in my memory forever. It doesn't matter Who is doing the epic ride, just that it is happening.

Nairito out...I hope he recovers soon. Bala's changes just got a bit dimmer.

I think it's possible Piti did not want to bridge with the risk of taking Froome to Nairito.

He admitted that he couldn't do any better.
