De Fuente was one of the greatest victories I have ever seen. I also have loads of respect for Andy Schlecks epic victory on Galibier, eventhough I am not a fan of him (it was the same say my youngest boy was born btw - was watching on and off at the hospital).
Some times those epic wins makes you forget anything about whether or not its a guy you normally root for. Thats one of the most beautiful things about cycling for me.
Anyways, will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Wether TS lets a break go or not.
Yeah that's probably true but I believe that he can limit his losses if the injuries are not too severeRyo Hazuki said:what are you guys expecting?! quintana is hurt and won't be a factor today or next few days for sure
MBotero said:I'm not a Contador fan of course, but i will never deny that he's the greatest cyclist in the current peloton.Still for me Fuente De doesn't have nothing magic in it,it was just Katusha and Purito stupidity exploited to the max by a smart cyclist like Contador.Contador has a lot of great wins during his career but for me Fuente De and TDF 2007 win are not among them.
P.S. Not that i hate Contador, but is hard to root for him given that Valverde and Purito are on my favorites list along with Froome![]()
Cimber said:It wasnt particularly stupidity. They were simply worn out and the whole Saxo team made the most to tire them further and exploit it (but sending reiders out front before Contador attacked). You can always claim you bolded part every time a rider and a team makes a gutsy more from the distance risking it all trying to explot the weakness (og create a weakness) of the leading team. Moves like that are epic imo (but you are ofcourse entitle to view it differently). Same goes for Talanskys move against a weak Saxo team in Dauphine. Classy and gutsy
HappyLoser said:Quintana will put the hammer down early on the last climb, AC will have to respond with Valverde, Uran and Purito on his wheels. Shall see what comes next...
Froome is done I think. He rode extremly average yesterday, he's out of gas to make a serious move.
Break will take this stage, no idea about GC results, really.
The thing was: Purito was beating/equaling Contador on his own ground the mountains - Contador moved territory and invented his own quasi-TT to win. It was inventive and v.risky and he did it!MBotero said:Still for me Fuente De doesn't have nothing magic in it,it was just Katusha and Purito stupidity exploited to the max by a smart cyclist like Contador.

- kinda like a knight of old.
I felt sorry for Purito at the same time.![]()

I don't know, maybe Katusha wasn't there or there was someone dangerous, who knows...ILovecycling said:why?
i dont understand it
Eyeballs Out said:I don't see how it was risky at all - there was very little to lose at that point - surely his podium place was pretty secure even if he'd ended up losing a minute instead of gaining time

Se ha retirado Nairo Alexander QUINTANA (159). El colombiano se ha vuelto a caer y ha decidido poner pie a tierra.
Miburo said:Yea now this veulta might be over, i don't see anyone challening Contador.
Valverde and purito will never do something crazy. And i don't think Froome will get better.
It sucks
