Nice win by Beñat! :)

By the way; let's now finally agree that dislocated joints are usually not very serious - like everybody who has experience with them has been saying all the time already - and Contador is more or less fine so we can stop making a drama about his shoulder........

The shoulder is fine.

The inflamation that followed the dislocation is definitely giving him a bit of trouble.

If he makes it past tomorrow, he will be back to 100%.

So Contador the big winner with 2 sec gained after the bonus sprint! Will be interesting to see if Astana will spice up the race tomorrow..

Sure, but it was quite obvious today that Contador wasn't as strong as he was before his crash.

If i were astana i would go all out tomorrow.

It's one of the best stages to do something with such a great team.

Contador looked like he was suffering like a dog.

His rivals will regret missing this opportunity.
Missed opportunity? they tried but couldn't drop him.

porte is banking on ITT from the look it. He can't drop anyone!! Attacking close to the finish line.. coward :D Aru can't even drop contador either. If they can't a rider who ride w/ pain.. i don't know when and where they can drop him again?

Yet again more proof that there is little between the 3 favourites.
I don't know. 2010 Tour for example first stage mountain stage to Morzine was really really hard, and raced hard, to the point that Armstrong lost 10 minutes. But 10 gc riders managed to finish together.

The next day 2 finished together, the 3rd finished 1.20, 3 more gc riders finished around 2.30, a fewmore at 3.30, the yellow jersey lost 10 minutes, you never know, and this wasn't even that hard a stage.

Contador is going to win this. Aru isn't able to drop him and will lose time in the TT. Porte is strong but will falter in one of the key stages.

Uran suddently up with the best guys. Will be interesting to see if he's able to fight for the win now.

contador should forgo the press conference and straight to hotel to rest. Tomorrow he can stay up for press conference. Porte has been doing that up until now. (sure he doesn't have pink, but aru and uran have been on the press)

Conclusion. Even with an injured shoulder and the pain that follows Porte and Aru cannot gain any time on Contador. In fact Aru almost dropped. Uran Uran back in the game, and Cataldo is suddenly a top tier GT rider.

Froome in reverse.

Grande Benat! Contador better than expected, i guess Porte and Aru will never drop him in this Giro, also Uran is back, with that TT he could be completely back in the game

Chapeau Intxausti and MoviStar!!!! The Spanish riders all have high voices....Valverde, Contador, Inxausti.

Anyway great final 30km. Astana and Aru tried their best to get rid of the man in Pink but he is still there :). Sky gave it their best shot also with the same result.....Contador in Pink!

FWIW there were plenty of people who said they had had a shoulder dislocation and had issues for weeks, massive pain etc and couldn't move arm, so there is clearly a big difference between individual cases.

Contador will struggle in the TT if he really dislocated his shoulder, disappointing stage today, but I think all 3 favourites are on a very even keel.

Absolutely not. He will be fine by then.

Guys, wake up! He's fine just now. He's on the same level he was riding up Abatone.

As I have said for a while, people shouldn't underrate Uran. He was only going to get better as the Giro went on. From next weekend he'll be much stronger.
