Vandenbroeck is going to lose minutes

:( it would suck big time if it was because he got held up by the Anton-Kreuziger incident.

if he's in form he must be able to gain some time on quite a lot of riders of the front group...

True. But he lost 2 min while he could have been just following wheels on the flattish part.

Edit: but whatever, he can't follow Hesjedal so doesn't matter.

Kruiswijk is still gonna top 10 I think, he's at least the 3rd best rider in the race that isn't paid from Kazakh oil money

The difference between Astana Postal and U Sky PS is that Astana can't drop anybody of some importance.

If he keeps up this form, he certainly might. Not going to happen today just yet I think.

Meanwhile, Jesus Hernandez is trying really hard to convince himself that he would've been there had he ridden the Giro

4 and 5 in GC are gone which, alongside the stage victory, is what they could have hoped for (well, maybe dropping Amador as well).

Caruso was yo-yoing off the back the whole of the previous climb. Is that him in the group or a teammate?
If it's him he's recovered amazingly well.

Can't really be anyone else though. Too tall to be Atapuma.

It wouldn't surprise me, he was there at the end of the mountain stages of the Vuelta last season

I don't think Hesjedal's move makes much sense. He is burning too much energy on low gradient. But we will see at the end of the day.
