Apparently, this is Can-Garmin roster at the Giro which will start in 1 month.
Ryder Hesjedal, Tom Danielson, Davide Formolo, Janier Acevedo, Andre Cardoso, Tom-Jelte Slagter, Edward King, Alan Marangoni and Moreno Moser.

They bring alot of climbers to support Hesjedal. This team can really explode the race in the mountains. What is your hopes for Canondale-Garmin next month?
It makes me wonder whether they are throwing too much of their climbing power for Giro and will be left with not enough mountain domestiques for Tour de France. I see on provisional startlist that Hesjedal and Cardoso intend to make a Giro-TdF double this year and Cannondale will probably have Dombrowski, Howes, King and Brown available to round out the TdF team. But those young American climbers combined with riders tired after Giro don't create a combination that brings much of a confidence to have a mountain support team worthy of a serious GC attempt for TdF. Especially when Martin or Talansky will not be willing to sacrifice himself too much in favour of his team-mate.

Plenty of riders who could possibly do something GC-wise at their optimal form, but I can see all of them failing to make any impact on GC. I hope they'll race aggressively and make some of the mountain stages really fun to watch. It's hard to imagine any of those riders placing himself in the top5 overall. I think Hesjedal is already past his best and will not achieve any spectacular results anymore (you can't know how much would I love to be wrong on this!), so there's no point in riding cautiously.

It's also interesting they leave all what's the best of their "flat" team home. They'll have Langeveld, Van Baarle, Koren, Navardauskas, Bauer and Haas fighting for 3 or 4 spots in TdF team. Maybe it's wise to keep their options open, since flat domestiques seem to have more importance in the TdF and they'll be able to chose their best men in their best form. But it means at least 2 of these guys will be refused to ride a GT before Vuelta at the expense of Ted King or Marangoni. And then who knows what the team selection for Vuelta will be like. It seems pretty harsh on them to me.

Maybe it would be right to have things more balanced and keep on of these climbers fresh for TdF and let one of the flat guys to ride his GT instead.

Thanks. That's a pretty good team. :)

Also added Boonen (he said he'll race his first ever Giro apparently) and Monfort

And VDB2 seems confirmed, so I wiped the "?" out.

Boonen didn't say he would race it, he said maybe and usually when boonen says maybe, it won't happen. The way he said it, i think he prob won't do it,

It would be great to see Boonen taking a stage in the Giro, should fit nicely in his record :)

Movistar line-up:

Beñat Intxausti, Ion Izagirre, Juanjo Lobato, Andrey Amador, Igor Antón, Eros Capecchi, Rubén Fernández, Jesús Herrada, Javi Moreno, Dayer Quintana y Giovanni Visconti.

Bold names are certain. Two of the others names still have to be dropped from the roster.

I remember earlier in the year or late last year Movistar said that they intend on having Intxausti/Izagirre as leaders and think one can go top 5. Not sure of the form of them, but it's probably a possibility and something they will still be aiming for.

If they'll be allowed to ride the Giro Astana also look pretty good.
Aru, Landa, Tira, Lulu Sanchez, Kangert, Cataldo and Malacarne seem to be confirmed. Diego Roa should also ride the Giro, add another guy with a big engine for the flat stages and that's a very good team.

Who would be left to play domestics to Quintana and Valverde?

It looks like they are more worried about the flats and TTT than the mountains.

My guess is G. Izagirre, Malori, Castroviejo, Erviti, José Herrada, Rojas and another climber.

Maybe Anacona.

A little off topic, but I couldn't find it with any search:

Does anyone have an image of the compiled route profile? The one with each stage lined up in a row?

BMC would be sending De Marchi to go for the mountains jersey I would have thought.

BMC are idiots for not sending Tejay Van Garderen to the Giro. A grand tour with a 60 km time trial doesn't come along every year. This is a much better fit for him than the TdF.
