Great news!
Edit: I don't think it's a clue that it will be climbed next year though

If "Beppe" stands for Beppe Conti, he's as reliable as me and you.18-Valve. (pithy) said:From the Transfers and Rumors thread.
Not a new rumor, but...

He knows his stuff about riders, that's true. About races, not.18-Valve. (pithy) said:Nah, he's right often enough to be considered a source, unlike random people on CN. Last June he already called that Contador would be gunning for the Giro-Tour double next year.
He knew about Sagan, Basso signing for Tinkoff, as well.

I wonder too, I thought about it years ago when Contador first talked GT Triple, but in this case I dont think its possible.Miburo said:You think it's possible that Contador talked to them and they told him the route isn't gonna be too hard?

I'm not saying it's impossible, mind you. Just saying that for now the rumoured route doesn't look so easy. It probably won't have 8 mountain stages like some other past Giro, but the ones that are in look potentially much tougher than an Unipublic MTF. Anyway, as I said in the AC thread, if both AC and Nibs are going to race it, any talk about "easy" routes goes down the drain. It just won't be an easy race, period. One would think that elite riders had enough experience to realize this, but nowadays I don't expect them to use their brain anymore.18-Valve. (pithy) said:This was part of a rumor about Nibali, though. I don't think it's beyond RCS to make it part of the negotiations to help secure big name riders. If Conti has a reliable source "within" Astana, which seems to be the case re: earlier rumors about Nibali and Aru, I don't see why not. Nibali apparently seems to have played it smart by not agreeing to anything until they release the route.
He has more chances of winning the Tour than winning the Giro now with Contador in the mix. At this stage it would be smarter for him to focus on T-A, MSR, LBL and the Tour instead, regardless of the route. He probably wants to beat Contador in Italy, though...
Has there been any news about the rumored mountain stages? Is Gavia in, do you think?
I don't see where...Netserk said:No chance for a MTT? Would favour Contador.

I think two ITTs back to back only happened once, in the Giro...TheGreenMonkey said:Stage 14, Monte Grappa makes geographical sense, LOL.

I really don't believe it's happening at all. I kept it in my prediction because there are no alternative stages rumoured...TheGreenMonkey said:I am a bit surprised it has happened even once.
Still it makes about as much sense as a Noale - Plan de Corones stage does. Either money has talked and they have put in a stage which makes little sense or it is just not happening. Perhaps Plan de Corones will happen but it will start from a more northerly place than Noale, that is my best hope.
do you wanna add a 3+ hrs transfer just before another 3+ hrs tranfer?Netserk said:Surely a Kronplatz MTT is possible, no?
