if that's the case, they should've revealed it today...Mayomaniac said:Today the posted something about Gimondis Birthday, maybe a stage dedicated to him? He was the first italian guy to win all 3 GTs, Nibali did the same this year, so they could use that as a reason to celebrate Gimondi.

18-Valve. (pithy) said:Thanks. I'd take it.
Why do you think they won't climb Gavia, though? That seemed to have been the original plan, according to the Velonews articles that cited the Giornale di Sondrio.
Eshnar said:Because I don't think they'll climb to Madonna di Campiglio twice in two days.
fauniera said:Gavia doesn't make much sense at all, if the Mortirolo is climbed from the south.
There's little doubt that the old Gavia/Mortirolo from Mazzo combo was the main plan during this summer, but that evidently changed in the last months. The issue with the route rumours is that we're not trying to undercover a secret, but we're simply trying to get the picture of something while it's still being negotiated. It is supposed to change overtime.18-Valve. (pithy) said:Contador did a commercialized "training ride" that included Gavia and Mortirolo, though, not that long ago. Allegedly to prepare for Lombardy, but still.

Maybe the rumored route is a bit off?

Mortirolo, Finestre, Saint-Panthaleon, maybe Croce Domini, maybe Pradaccio. Those are the rumoured ones. Anyway, mountain passes are rumoured very rarely, and only if they are the key of the stage.18-Valve. (pithy) said:I missed that the Bormio rides Contador participated in were an annual event, or whatever.
Odd that there have been zero rumors about the main Giro high mountain passes, though. Other than the MTFs and the all too predictable Finestre there's nothing. Surely the route has been finalized by now?

the other three weren't rumoured in the media indeed.18-Valve. (pithy) said:Thanks! I knew about the first two, but didn't know that the other three were actually rumored in the media.

Medias don't even know those climbs anyway![]()
