I reckon Aru is not too fond of rainy conditions...

Wind is predicted 15-25 kmph... not too bad?
Also wind coming from SSV will give side-tailwind until second intermediate then chances to head-sidewind for the last part...
When I ride with 25kph headwind I lose 25% of my speed :D but I'm not a professional sooooo..

Well. me too :) I suck in the wind...

I just looked at some weather sites at they say wind light from NW or NE in the afternoon as far as I could tell. Wind to change direction late morning.

Thanks... I'am no expert in reading weather sites so maybe I got it wrong...

Here is Inrng preview btw..

http://inrng.com/2015/05/giro-stage-14-preview-2015/

On weather he says this:

Weather: cold and wet at times with intermittent showers. The variable conditions could alter the result especially as the forecast is for a headwind on the long flat first 3okm for the early starters which could swing to a tailwind for the last riders but this timing isn’t precise.

about 6/1 on AC seems great value in this weak TT field

Yea i only think Uran can beat him here. I don't see any pure ITT and especially after 2 hard weeks
Where's Luke Durbridge been? I saw him mentioned for the TT. But yeah Contador/Uran/Porte are probably 2-4 after Zakarin.
Durbridge has been resting up in the autobus when possible. This is one of his big targets for the year

Did not know that, he could top 5, not sure he will win it.

Although with it raining all day it could go to someone who wants to take risks on those descents to put in time on the favourites who will take them easier.

So riders that go early who don't have a leader to ride for. Who knows what the rain will do. Will it get heavier later on? Will the wind be more favourable to the earlier riders? Lots of variables but it will suit the following riders.

Hepburn, Durbridge, Gretsch etc. Gretsch finished 6th in the long TDF time trial a few years ago. Durbridge finished around the same in the long Giro time trial 2 years ago. Hepburn isn't proven over this distance, but Durbridge and Gretsch are.
If it's windy and rainy Gretsch, Boaro and Durbridge will be up there IMO. Kiriyenka too if he's up to it but I doubt it from the way he's ridden the first two weeks.

Shame Tony Martin isn't here, half the peloton would be 10 mins + :D

Keep plugging away, it gets better. Not much, but better :)

You know which riders will be laughing today?

Those who are not in the vicinity of Italy

This parcours is brutal, racing has been brutal for almost two weeks and the weather is gonna be tough. It will take a lot out of the riders.

There will be lots of riders envying Matthews and Boonen.

Could be some major time gaps on this one in the end, such a long time trial that its a nasty day out for any rider there is no riding easier, just riding even harder
With amazing insight like that you really are wasting your talent posting on here and should immediately be snapped up by ES as a commentator.

Not necessary.
