Laurens ten Dam still racing, fell on his face, nothing noticable happened to it

Brutal joke, yet epicly funny :D

Byt the way, I fully agree with this:
Race Radio
@TheRaceRadio
When all of your ambulances and race doctors are busy taking care of injured riders halting the race is the smart move

Neutralising the race because half the field crashwd and need medical attention. Feel free to use your brains people.

Hardly half the field. Feel free to use your eyes. The ambulance thingy is just horse**** for the sake of the big whiner.

Proudhomme should just let Canc ride in car for the rest of the race.
Nah.

I guess we will see more crashes soon, when all the GC teams will try to reorganize.

Regardless of who's right or wrong, can someone explain the stupid bashing of 1 of the top3 riders of the 2000s? Just because he neutralized a stage when the shlecks went down?

Cause it was hilarious, especially cause the day after when there was a crash but canc didn't care, kept racing with andy in his wheel.

Know what a hypocrite is?
Someone who says that they enjoy cycling but diss one of the most spectacular and stronger riders ever and call *** at the others, while rooting for one or 2 guys alone?

I cheer for stybar, boonen, contador, devolder, GVA, kwiat, piti too this year.

Not that this should matter for my point. So what if spartacus is one of the greatest, he's still a hypocrite for that.

If there's no ambulance, then it's an even bigger disgrace for the aso.

That's their responsibility no?

There are ambulances, but they are stopped to attend to the couple of dozen riders that went down at 50km/h. They can't have an ambulance for every rider

Less than 10 riders went down. Seen the replay a bunch of times. A couple of dozen = more than 24 riders. Where did you see such a crash today?

For the people who are angry that they have to wait for ambulances - if a guy crashes hard and dies because it takes 20 minutes for an ambulance to show up, is that an acceptable casualty just so that the race can go on?
So you're saying that the ambulance would get there faster if the riders don't ride?

It's just not the Tour until TenDam is bandaged up like a mummy with blood dripping from his face.

Whats happening with regards to the breakaway. Did they stop too or have they gained about 10 minutes on the Peloton...

No info regarding this so far...

They had already been caught before the crashes.

It doesn't matter if it were 100 riders or 1.

If all ambulances and doctors are busy, the race stops. End of discussion.

You don't stop a race for this reason!
Yes you do. If at least 1 ambulance is available, the race stops. No questions asked. Learn how to read.

And who the f are you? Listen, the fact that there are no ambulances is just f-ing pi$$ poor. This crash was normal, nothing out of the ordinary. It's a race that's gotten too big for itself.

Just saw the crash again. Seems 3 Tinkoff riders hit the deck hard. At least one wont be back. TTT-problems

You sure it wasn't Lotto-NL? Seemed to me like the entire Tinkoff-Saxo team was on the left side of the road.

Didn't see Tinkoff riders involved

R. Costa also involved in the crash. Doctors and medical team "overwhelmed" after the crash according to Lampre DS

Matthews distanced, crying from pain

Canc is gonna give up. Martin yellow?

I'm all for neutralizing a race when riders crash. I hope doctors demand this every time with a big crash. But please give us consistency.

Are you really doing this because they didn’t wait for Contador last year? If so, you must be desperate...

I assume the point is that the race was neutralized until there was an ambulance available to drive as part of the convoy. If there was no ambulance in the convoy, because all of the ambulances had taken away injured riders, and then there was another crash, there would be no ambulance available to deal with the new crash. By neutralizing the race, they can wait until there is another ambulance available to join the race.
