Re: Re:

Cannondale Garmin are once again being hamstrung by Vaughters. He is looking to the future with the young guys, giving token support to Martin and Talansky and assuming Hesjedal will ride like he did in the Giro and be able to take on the mountains himself. Too bad Vaughters can't keep tinkering and actually put a team together that will support the GC guys. I guess if one of the big 3 falter, they will become domestiques for the others. Can't see how the two new to the tour guys are gonna help much. Garmin will have to ride very contained and smart to have much hope of GC ambitions. Pretty disappointing to see the squad. Like the Giro, Hesjedal as GC was never really given great support. Basically his team was gone most days by the time TV coverage happened. Sure Formolo got a stage win but that didn't help the GC any. Very questionable strategy which seems the usual from Vaughters.

I have a dream...... that Contador, Kreuziger, Rodgers and Basso wasn't close to their peak in the Giro, and they will all be flying in the Tour :p

On a serious note, i'm pretty disappointed in the team management of Tinkoff Saxo. They've litterally wasted a half season for Kiserlovski. He a good climber, and he should either have been granted a spot for the Tour or have peaked for the Giro and the Vuelta. He's not a rider where you say "prepare for the Tour, then we'll see if you can make the squad.

It could be that they thought Kreuziger would be banned.

Still a strong team, if Sagan will help Contador in the hilly terrain.

Surprised that Henao didn't get selected. I am also just as surprised that Konig was selected. I guess they are sure that he will be 100% recovered from the Giro, which I doubt. But who cares because the rest of the team looks strong.

Haas and Van Baarle fully deserved to get their chance. The problem is that the team isn't well-balanced. And big part of the team is in poor form this year.

They send 8 climbers and 1 rouleur to the Giro and then 3 climbers and 6 rouleurs to the TdF.

Yeah. Actually, its especially the climbers of the team that have serious lack of performance this season( apart Hesjedal in the Giro) Keep in mind that Hesjedal was always isolated in the mountains in the Giro. He's a rider that can fend for himself, but for Talansky and Martin, im not sure. I guess that in this Tour de France, they want to do a good TTT and keep the 3 leaders safe at the cobble's stage.

I'm happy that Kittel isn't there. He's behaving like a diva with hormonal issues. Now he's more or less saying he could quit the team. He hasn't shown anything at all this year, yet things he deserves a place on the team in lieu of someone else that actually is competitive? Bah.

The guy is a douchebag, remember how he bitched and moaned last year when the team selected Cheng Ji for the Tour?

Yes, he said when he first head that they would take Cheng Ji to the Tour he thought that is was a joke and complained about the fact that he would be too weak and that having a weaker team would diminish his chances.

Confirmed Sky Tour team: Froome, Porte, Poels, Thomas, Roche, Kennaugh, Stannard, Konig, Rowe

From interviews it seems Rowe, Stannard, Thomas, Kennaugh , Poels & Roche will be used on flat and rolling stages with Porte and Konig kept fresh for final week

no, Poels is too strong on the climbs to be wasted for the early stages. I want him to be amazing as Landa
I know what I am saying

Maybe what you know or what you want are different to SKY tactics
If Poles is the new Landa then Porte & Konig will have to move down the train
And no rider is 'wasted' on any stage as they are there to do a job for Froome

well he had all the reason to complain about that. what kind of **** decision was that. yes kittel is a douchebag for 100 reasons, but not this one

Well, you could read that as Porte and Konig are backup captains if Froome goes down again. Poels is there solely as dom.

The terraine in first 12 stages suit Poels and maybe he could get a stage win

Also knowing the Tour and SKY there re bound to be drop outs/crashes and who knows who will be left standing by week 3

Giant wanted to have a Chinese rider at the Tour, that was pretty obvious and having the first Chinese rider at the Tour gave them lots of publicity.
The whole team was built around him and he had a huge train, that he really needs because he's such one dimensional rider, the team made a decision that was pretty reasonable for them from an economic standpoint.

Kittel is supposed to be the fastest sprinter by a country mile. Which means in theory he shouldn't need the strongest team ever.

Poels is a climber. Not sure what you expect from him?
He was Froomes last man in the mountains in the dauphine. He is not consistent though, but It wouldnt surprise me if Poels ended up being Froomes last man in the mountains on 1 or 2 occasions.

I expect nothing from him but someone else thinks he is the new Landa. I know exactly what kind of rider he is
And one or 2 occasions will hardly cut it so as I said he could win a rolling stage which does not preclude him being good in the mountains as alot of climbers are
Its like pulling teeth
And in case you hadn't noticed SKY have alot of top climbers so someone will have to work the rolling stages also
