Damn, Lobato came out of nowhere. Looked like he was 10 or so back when the sprint started.

Didn't expect Movistar to finish with two on the podium. Both Dumoulins in top 10.

IS Paul speaking a combination of Italian and Spanish? :D
I think the only thing we can say for certain is that him and Phil are getting stuck into the Penfolds :D

Lobato came from a long way back.

Sky ran out of men and so did BMC for the end. OGE and CG timed it well, though CG ran out of men very quickly in the run in to the finish.

Ligget said "De Gendt has not had a great season since then (2011-TDU) until this breakaway".
A rider who came 3rd in the Giro in 2012, and even in 2013 came 1st in a stage at Catalunya and 3rd in the first TDF ITT.

Great win by Lobato. Tommorow's stage is harder.

And the breakaway today got him and his team some TV exposure, but ended up costing him 13:43 on GC - seems he went out the back in a big way after being caught.

Kittel finished in that group too, so end of his GC hopes.

Kittel had GC hopes? That's funny :)

Didn't see the stage, anyone know what happened to Haussler?

Nothing in particular...His team just didn't have control towards the end. He didn't get a flat or crash or anything, just wasn't there in the end. Ended up being 23rd.

In fairness, he did mention the fact that he was 3rd at the Giro a couple times.
