A boring race. I do not get why no WT team is in the least interested to make something happen? I mean BMC is bossing, but Garmin/Saxo/Trek are just watching things unfold and are happy to participate in a well organized group ride  why travel to the end of the world in the first place ?

I'm pretty sure Tinkoff did have plans, unfortunately Chris Anker suffered from Lowlander Syndrome.

Formolo crashed, apparently had a rear flat before that. Hugh Carthy isn't racing on a TTT bike, that's bad...

BMC really doesn't believe in sharing at this race.
Other than between themselves; they're quite good at that.

I did hope that this would be an interesting race. However, BMC is clearly the strongest team and as a few have already pointed out, even the WT teams don't appear either interested or able to really contend. Looking over the final 2 stages, I don't even see how much can change. Based on the stage profiles, it looks like the last 15k tomorrow will be flat. The last 85k on Sunday also appear to be either downhill or flat, so barring something unexpected, there is no way that Dennis can lose the race at this point.

As far as cycling is concerned US is definetly not the end of the world. In fact, it has great cycling history, and long lasting domestic scene and one of the best amateur calendars. Not to mention it's people are much more interested in cycling than many European nations.

Apart from the last sentence BigMac is absolutely right.
He is, but that was not the point about my post of a race at the end of the world.

Anyway, it is over now and we can turn our attention to Spain

LOL Colorado is the end of the world?

Well yes, considering that most WT pros and the European conti pros are actually based in Europe. It is the middle of the season and just to get there, I would say that most of them look at 10+ hours of travelling plus time zone change. So this is a lot of effort to get there and show nothing....

PS I am aware that for you US boys the US are the center of the world, but for cycling, I would say it is more in Europe

I'm still convinced I'm right on every aspect of that paragraph. And this is as off-topic as it goes, at least from me.

I'm sorry, but this has to be the worst stage race on the UCI calendar. There should be a penalty for having a race in superb terrain yet failing to take advantage of it.
Yes,this race is the American Österreich Rundfahrt, first I wanted to call it the American Bayern Rundfahrt, but at least they're using some climbs, even if those aren't exactly great climbs, so it's not as bad as the Bayern Rundfahrt.

how is that comment helpful

novo-nordisk is doing the right thing!

Absolutely, my comment wasn't regarding their cause just the poster referring to them as a 'diabetes team'.
