So are there any hope SOMEONE might overtake Porte in the GC on the Barcelona stage? Tomorrows stage looks too easy
It can only be done on bonifications. And I think the only ones that can do that are Valverde and Uran but they are too far down. The other two are Contador and Pozzo. I cannot foresee a sprint with these two trying to steal the bonifications from the other riders.

Valverde providing top racing again, wtf is wrong with the guy :p I hope he continues to do it all year long :)

Milan San Remo onfortunately didn't gave the impression he will do it in the biggest races.

Well.., MSR is not exactly a Valverde kind of race, it's too flat, top sprinters are always in the mix. Once in 10 years opportunity arises, like Bettini 2003, Gerrans 2012, but this was not the year. Let's wait a little, 3-4 weeks, than we'll see. I have a feeling you will have a different impression

Makes sense, he could not let Richie take any bonus seconds, but he's so caught up with winning he might actually lose his podium spot. Valverde is just 1 stage win behind him.

Well, he does have the palmares to risk a podium place for the overall.

I agree, I just think it shows he only thinks about winning (which is good) :)

What happened with Talansky? Was doing ok and today completely cracked.

To be honest today was pretty brutal, if a rider was having a bit of an off-day they had no hiding place out there. There were also guys who found themselves on the wrong end of the echelon's that Sky then Valverde created.

He had a flat in the worst possible time, just when the wind started splitting the race. Bad luck.

i think there was some kind of agreement between Contador and Valverde
thats almost impossible ;)

their relationship is well known.

Really?

In the end, I had to be careful, when Valverde attacked and I didn’t want to follow, because there were others who had to close the gap and for me it was also better that Alejandro, who is a friend, won instead of any other rider”, comments Alberto Contador after the stage finish in Valls.

I think Berto is a cheeky little liar, they aren't friends.

Sure, this is just the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I don't think these guys will be friends in the future and you can add J.Rod in the mix.

Very large break with some interesting names: Preidler, Cano, Vorganov, Chernetski, Silin, van Garderen, Soler, Danielson, Verona, Alaphilippe, Lecusinier, Durasek, Kruijswijk, Hivert, Vachon, Paterski, Navarro, Chetout, Jeandesboz, Minnaard and Cousin.
They have 2 minutes on the peloton.

i feel that alberto doesn't like richie at all
he will let anyone else win but not him on montjuic. he will let even valverde !
it will be very hard for team sky in giro, alberto being liked to the moon by the likes of aru and other italians. a lot if alliances will be made.
anyway, crazy race. i never saw this happening, i still know jackshiit about cycling.
