who talked about sprinters?Fernandez said:Do you people think that in a 500 mts sprint at 6 % Valverde is less favourite than the sprinters in this Vuelta after those steep ramps they are gonna face before?
Some people here. But my guess is that if Valverde arrives with Sagan or Degenkolb at that kind of sprint, and having passed fast the previous short steep climb, who do you think would be favourite?ILovecycling said:who talked about sprinters?Fernandez said:Do you people think that in a 500 mts sprint at 6 % Valverde is less favourite than the sprinters in this Vuelta after those steep ramps they are gonna face before?

You have to believe me, they will softpedal tomorrow. I bet my life on it.HelloDolly said:classicomano said:As evident by yesterdays stage the main GC guys (minus Dumoulin) cant be arsed in these early stages and clearly want to ease into this Vuelta. Major Tom will take full advantage of this.
As mentioned in interviews both before and after the stage and evident by their teams riding at the Front both Valverde & Purito wanted to win stage 2 . Quintana was riding fro Valverde and was a bit rusty and Froome was unsure of his form and found he climb hard going. Dan Martin also wanted to win the stage and take red
No where did anyone say they 'can't be arsed' with early stages. Do you make this sh** up ? Are you Carlton Kirby ?
Tom Dumoulin has a chance on the steeper shorter stages this week but will be left behind on the mountains ...especially as they come one after another
Winners tomorrow will be Moreno, Purito, Valverde or one of the top 4 from stage 2

If Purito really goes full *** on that 2 km section, he's gone. Will it be enough to hold on? Perhaps, let's hope.
Otherwise Dan Martin or Dumoulin ftw.

I mean, could Sagan, for example, win Valverde if they arrive together at that sprint?

The TV coverage I saw was poor so I wasn't sure where everyone was positioned at the start of the climb but I thought Martin climbed it faster than all the GC favorites? Or did the top 10 finishers not start the climb together?
I don't expect much excitement until the last 10km tomorrow but this unique finish will be really interesting!
