Well, I think more than one rider will finish within 30 seconds of Contador.

He might not even win it but this is made for him. If he's in any decent shape, he should win this easily imo.

Two more days for alberto's show. Anything less than 30 seconds for anyone (except froome) is very disappointed
Your expectations are very high, 30 seconds over just 4km are a lot, even in a slow MTT. How long are we expecting it to take?

It's a lot but it's not impossible. It's pretty similar to the first part of PV ITT. In that first part Contador put like 25 sec on quintana who on his turn almost rode 30 sec faster than yates so it's possible.

Yeah, I expect him to win aswell (based on the Pais Vasco TT), but two times this year (almost) EVERYONE expected him to win the stage (Algarve stage 2 and Pais Vasco stage 2) and it failed quite misserably both times. If this TT was towards the end of the race, no problem, but since it is the first racing day after more than 40 days we cannot quite know what to expect...

At 6.5w/kg, in the absence of air resistance and friction, it would take 8 mins 49 seconds by my calculations. Therefore, you're looking at somewhere in the region of about 11-13 mins

Completely irrelevant for TTs. TT is a race against the clock, something you do in training anyway. It's more about how close to their peak each rider will be

But in that case people were measuring their efforts more and Contador may have ridden the uphill harder than Quintana, who IIRC gained some time on the flat after. Here everyone goes flat out, top to bottom. It's also slightly steeper than Eibar from that side; not much, just slightly.

I expect Vervaeke to do well too, at least in the TT, he was the fastest one at the top in Paris-Nice, and also did well in Pais Vasco on these steep ramps!

In Romandie, not in Paris-Nice. And the weather changed after his ride, so the favorites rode on wet roads. Nevertheless a great performance from him.

He's changed his program a bit. He was programmed to do TdS but apparently he (or LTS) changed his/their mind. His big goal is the Vuelta this year, but I hope he can show his climbing abilities here and get a top-15 or who knows a top-10. The team said that they don't put any pressure on him to ride a GC here so maybe he's just going for a stagewin.

I don't expect much regarding a Froome vs. Contador battle just yet. Mostly due to Froome wanting to maintain his peak until the Olympics, so..
I don't think Bertie wants to burn all his matches yet.

Probably not, but did they pull Kreuziger from TdS just because of july? Or maybe also to make a Dauphiné win more likely?

I'd call this pan-flat in comparison to this yes.

I didnt say a word about it being arrow straight or not.

The point is, you can't compare 2016 prologue to the 2014 prologue.
Even preparation is debatable. Froome actually won stuff in 2014. Herald Sun Tour and a stage win in Romandie are not very impressive compared to his 2014 results.

Just for the record; I hope Pinot wins Dauphiné. Don't care much for Contador and Froome.
