Nibali's malocchio seems to be really powerful, many great gt contenders have fallen victim to it.

2010: Anton
2013: Wiggo

Landa should never have gone to Sky, sky have a tendency to ruin great talents sadly..theres plenty of evidence out there
He'd been having his year in terms of results up until now.

Landa can't be the first Sky newcomer to have put Brailsford's sausage in his mouth only to have woken the next day feeling terrible and with severe abdominal pain...

Team Sky car: Mikel Landa started to feel bad during the night but they didn't think it was that serious. (RAI) #giro

"eating" everyday microcapsules and endovenous sugars..who would have thought that eating a greasy sausage would do such damage to those delicate atrophied cute little tummies

Wiggo in 2013? No, that was just completely losing his nerve.

Got to be said though, Sky's record at Il Giro with big name contenders is pretty abysmal. Rigo in 2013 the only exception, and even that mainly because Wiggins failed so hard so early that they only made him drop time for Wiggins in a couple of stages.

If it is a nutrition thing, it's once again Sky missing the wood for the trees, like the 2012 País Vasco where they were too busy on mood lighting and hole-free aero helmets to do such a frivolous thing as studying the roadbook so toasted their puncheurs trying to lead Davide Appollonio out for a sprint when suddenly a 1km @ 9% wall emerged near the finish. They'd seemingly got over that problem when they started winning classics with riders other than Flecha and Stannard, so now they have to find another one :p

You'd think a team that attributes part of its success to riders washing their hands, particularly between the fingers, would have nutrition down.

It’s a pity.
But one must wonder, it felt strange all along, suffering on easy climbs.
I hope he gets form and a free role for the Tour.

Landa pulling out is absolutely awful for the GC battle. Giro pretty much ruined now.

You think Nibali will win by 8 minutes? I think there's half a dozen riders within a minute and the real mountains are not even here yet.

Was landas plan to go to the Vuelta? It seems to be an obvious goal to try the giro-vuelta double but now working for froome at the tour would also make sense. It would just be ironic if he leaves astana because he wants to lead a gt and then he ends up in exactly the same situatiob as last year.

Landa might even be third string at the Tour behind Thomas. :D
