Bad crash, not helped by the idiot (Tinkoff?) soigneur who was stood right on the crest of the corner.

In this stage all the Slovenian riders are extremely motivated. Mohoric and Bole are already in the break. You can see how many Slovenian flags are there. I'd say 70% or even more of the spectators are of Slovenian nationality.

Just got back from lunch break and turned on my stream. What's the situation with the peloton? Big selection on Matajur from what I can see?

Denifl is no stranger to long solo attacks.
true, but he's also known to be caught just short of the finish line (Tour de Suisse stage to Sölden/Glacier iirc)

De Cauwer is the best and the guy is just rational. He's nothing too special but he's clearly the best.

Vannieuwkerke is also really good, his knowledge of cycling is very good although i don't like him and he rarely is a commentator anymore.

I really wish we have a Vannieuwkerke. We have to be satisfied with Dijkstra and Ducrot

Vannieuwkerke is not only the best host, but also a really good commentator indeed. I really enjoyed his commentary during the Giro's he did and Paris-Roubaix/Liege.
Mart Smeets was quite satisfying as well during his golden years wasn't he!? :)

Now that I know you are watching the stage I'm sure he doesn't stand a chance :p
Jokes aside, I know he has little to no chance. He made a mistake going solo imo. He should wait for the group behind. He'll get caught on the flat part anyway.

I don't think it matters if Jungels has no team. No one is gonna to look at him to solve it when something serious happens.

It's different when you're nibali, froome, contador but not with jungels. He won't have to carry the weight of the race. Maybe that will change next week but not this weekend.

wtf is wrong with Eurosport, why are they showing inspired fans instead of live racing?!

Pretty sure it's the TV producers in Italy who are showing those random pictures. Various TV channels (sp?) over the world just show the pictures they get they get them.
But, yeah... those random cuts are a bit frustrating.
