What did you expect at 100k from finish?
Some domestiques setting up a nice pace?Rollthedice said:Miburo said:Wauw what an exciting stage, i hope the last 2 stages get cancelled.

One man in front wouldn't make difference for Majka. On contrary, could be useful later on. Just look at the other teams with GC riders.Broccolidwarf said:sir fly said:So, only FDJ and Tinkoff without their men in the breakaway... I can understand FDJ's absence, they're in survival mode, but Tinkoff could've sent somebody. I guess there's no fresh legs in Tinkoff already.
I disagree
I think Tinkoff is banking on a moderate pace until Giau, so the team is more useful with him than out in front..... it's a hard day to get your own water, to get back after a puncture, etc.

Eshnar said:It does not look good at all atm. Both the stage and the whole Giro.
But on the stage to Gardeccia, at halfway up the Giau, the peloton had like 100 riders and the breakaway had 12'. So it's way too early to tell.

Knowing this is the giro and the fact that the 2 last stages might be cancelled thus this being the last real mountain stage, I guess I shouldn't really have any expectations.
Let's softpedal to the giau, great
nope. But then again that Giro was looking done and dusted by that stage. And the stage to the Zonc had been shameful as well.Miburo said:Eshnar said:It does not look good at all atm. Both the stage and the whole Giro.

There's a Contador in this race or a nibali who is willing to actually really attack in the descent?

It's about team owner's lack of interest for this business. Today's breakaway is about presenting sponsors, as well. Queen stage, plenty of TV time, salesman's samples at the open market.
The Dolomites were ridden quite the same way in 2008, just BECAUSE of Contador back then as well!Eshnar said:nope. But then again that Giro was looking done and dusted by that stage. Whole South Tyrol must be sheer earthporn. Especially the Dolomites! <3togo95 said:Dolomites are the most beautiful mountains in Europe imo. Hopefully I will visit again soon.

Ridiculous conspiracy theory.
All the DS and riders want to win.... remember, they are all out of a job soon....
