Valverde is such brilliant rider. No matter what race it is, hes there trying to get something from it, rain or shine, all year long. A man who clearly loves to race his bike.

Ummm Valverde the wheel sucker who protects his podium place with everything he has and forces his team to suck the life out of every GT? That Valverde? Or is there a long lost relation of his racing too?

No, not that one. Valverde one of the very best riders of the 21st Century. That's the Valverde he's talking about!

What was Nibbs thinking today??? He cooked himself for the rest of the Giro...

simple. He got no form. Now he needs to fight for pride. I hope zakarin will fight to bump Valverde. We all know, Valverde likes to keep his podium spot once he is in there. He wheelsucked to the gill.

You are right about it, but if you don't feel the form you cannot attack like that, he just cooked himself, now he lost his podium place and maybe he can't finish in the top five because of the energy wasted.

I mean, you know your body, if you feel that you are on the limit, you don't attack, that's quite simple, just smart ridding.

He was the favorite, not on his peak, but if he were a bit smarter there he could get a nice podium place at least.

At this phase of his career Nibali doesn't care for podium spot or top five.
Luckily there are guys like Nibali in the sport who push themselves to the limits, and offer us such great spectacle.

He has ridden for podiums in the past though when he was at the same stage of a career as the other guys.

I don't really recal any GT where chose the podium when there was a way to try and win it.

Your sacrifices are not unappreciated
Gigs won't be able to watch the final week of the Tour, so it's probably going to be one of the most memorable 3rd weeks in the history of the Tour. :D
