I think the top 3 is already established ......... and Nibali ain't in it :(
Difficult to call between Zakarin and Chaves for me.

Don't discount another Valverde fail when they hit 2500+

Doubt it. They're not going to spend 3 consecutive hours at altitude in any other stage. He had no problem over the Bonette, Lombarde and so on in previous races

What a stage again!
Who said its like 2012 giro? :p

Congrats to Valverde,experience won ;)

Tbh it's even more like Hampsten 88 now. Once in a lifetime chance, once in a lifetime shape, once in a lifetime performance!

Once in a lifetime luck too.
It's not often mentioned that Hampsten was going to lose that Giro in the final TT anyway and was saved by an oil spill in a roundabout that brought down the other contenders.

What was Nibbs thinking today??? He cooked himself for the rest of the Giro...

simple. He got no form. Now he needs to fight for pride. I hope zakarin will fight to bump Valverde. We all know, Valverde likes to keep his podium spot once he is in there. He wheelsucked to the gill.

You are right about it, but if you don't feel the form you cannot attack like that, he just cooked himself, now he lost his podium place and maybe he can't finish in the top five because of the energy wasted.

I mean, you know your body, if you feel that you are on the limit, you don't attack, that's quite simple, just smart ridding.

He was the favorite, not on his peak, but if he were a bit smarter there he could get a nice podium place at least.

Valverde is such brilliant rider. No matter what race it is, hes there trying to get something from it, rain or shine, all year long. A man who clearly loves to race his bike.

Nibali doesn't care about a podium place or top5.

Nice stage.
Good racing and congrats to the trio.
Valverde deserved winner, Kruijswijk in charge, Zakarin courageous.
Too bad Chaves had a crisis on the lower slopes, he should have been with the trio at the finish.
Nibali's really struggling. Looking at his spring, I wonder if there's some hidden health problem.
