Thanks!
I wouldn't underestimate the stage after the rest day, if a team wants to make the race hard from the start it could be really hard.Pricey_sky said:BigMac said:Don't take conclusions so early, this means nothing.
Stoked for Wellens. Nice celebration sending kisses to the crowd. You go!
Agree, we have almost a week until the next decent mountain stage, although there is the weekends TT of course.
Having been safe in the knowledge since 30k to go, that Wellens was gonna win this, it's just the heat of the moment and drama amongst the GC riders that people talk about. Nothing wrong about that.BigMac said:Forever The Best said:By the way awesome win by Wellens
There are literally three posts congratulating him for his victory.

He can never seem to make them stick after he gets clear and ends up losing time whenever he tries.
It's just bizarre.
How can a three time GT winner who achieved a dominant level in July 2014 be unable to replicate that level for 2 years? He isn't old, he can't possibly have forgotten how to train.
And even though Froome and Contador crashed out and Quintana wasn't there, Nibali's performance in that Tour was utterly dominant.
Now he's getting beat by a lot of riders.
We shouldn't ride him off yet but that was a worrying sign.
Despite the fact he's a great champion with a big palmares, you always get the idea he's beatable in the mountains. He's not a constantly dominant figure like Contador or Froome. He's a great allround rider, but he's has his off days uphill.
Doesn't go for the "**** small races"SafeBet said:The legend Tim Wellens strikes again. 7 wins as a pro, 7 WT wins.
Yeah we have to wait almost a week but still of the next 4 stages 3 could cause some very serious gaps in the gc. A gravel stage can always cause carnage, the ITT will cause time gaps anyway and stage 10 also is very hard and especially since some riders weren't very strong today others might try to make the race es hard as possible.Pricey_sky said:BigMac said:Don't take conclusions so early, this means nothing.

Unless the big shots improve drastically, he at the very least could podium here I think.Lexman said:Dumoulin said this morning this climb suited him, since it was on power, he's not sure for the mountains in the second half of the Giro...
Did he ever really have it with that avatar and username?Angliru said:SevenTimeTdfChamp said:Forever The Best said:Says the Armstrong fanboySevenTimeTdfChamp said:rehy90 said:Nibali's ego is writing cheques his body cant cash

I'm not expecting wonders from Valv in this race, despite the team hyping it up with #balarosa and all that. Maybe he gets on the podium, if he's lucky. Maybe. I expect him to ride very conservatively here. In Italy.

False. The first week of any grand tour is meant for wild speculation and unwarranted celebration/doomsaying.
This means everything.
The irony is that Armstrong had probably the biggest ego on cycling. And he was mostly able to do every dirty trick to win.SevenTimeTdfChamp said:Forever The Best said:Says the Armstrong fanboySevenTimeTdfChamp said:rehy90 said:Nibali's ego is writing cheques his body cant cash

Exactly! In the space of less than an hour the forum goes from Astana super strong and Nibali going to smash it to, oh look Nibali is finished. Lol
Yes, there's some indications from today, but it's very early in the race to be drawing too many conclusions already.
