Wouldn't it been better for Cannondale to let Dombrowski attack a few times on Guardsman Pass to tear out the opponents or even bridge over to King and win the whole thing?

I thought the same when I thought about the stage, but it's Cannondale, so who the hell knows their actual team tactics.

Their pulling earlier in the race may cost King the stage win.

I think that he should do well.
I'd love to go skiing in Utah, the whole area looks stunning and Utah powder snow is the stuff of legends.

Final stage is on with Talansky, Costa and Rosskopf in the middle between the break and the peloton long before Empire pass

Edit: although, to be fair it seems like only Rosskopf is working

BMC were trying attacks with multiple riders. Talansky responded by himself to one of those.

Looking at the size of the group behind (with at least 4 Cannondale riders) I am not sure that it was really necessary

I think it might have been better than burning out his team and risking being isolated later. He doesn't work anyway.
