FFS... I am so pissed right now. But it could be much worse. It could be a broken collarbone and au revoir Tour...
If Hamilton can ride the Tour (and a Giro) with a broken collarbone, Contador can too. The man's as tough as nails.
He hasn't got a broken collarbone. He was dancing on the pedals immediately after crashing, putting a fair bit of weight on it. The worst he'll have from that is some kind of hip contusion - which could disrupt his sleeping and be painful at the start of the ride. But after about an hour or two riding, it will loosen up and he'll hardly feel it.

Should be fine by the mountains.
Sure, I was just running with bajbar's hypothetical scenario. :)

Taxus is a nice guy, gets a lot of undeserved ***

When you fall that fast the chances of broken bones are sometimes less likely to break bones than if you fall from an almost stationary position, you skid a bit, and while I don't know the physics behind it gravity seems a bit more forgiving, hopefully he is alright

How the hell didn't he get anything broken there? Thank the lord.

Sick of crashes wrecking Grand Tours.

Proudhomme thinks it's great. The best thing about the prologue is that it stabilizes the race. Prudhomme ditches the traditional prologue and we got more early crashes.

Agreed. Contador's hip might be the biggest issue. He'll lose some time tomorrow in the finish, but he should be good in a few days (assuming no further crashes).
Considering his great opponents this may not be enough.

Trying to make some lemonade here with these lemons.
I understand,appreciate it ;)

Just saw a pic,it will be swollen but lets hope for nothing internal

No reason to ban Taxus. He's entitled to air his biased/half-baked opinions just like the rest of us

I sorry you've missed. It was an important moment. Hit the tarmac on a roundabout exit, might be the road furniture he caught. Someone's wheel could have been worse. You'll find the video somewhere soon, I'm sure. ES has already showed it again.

portugal11 isn't any better, but the post by taxus was ridiculous ofcourse.

As if the crash by Contador wasn't much. Just a scratch. I mean did you see the crash?
I think he has a problem this TdF, despite him riding he's probably suffering like hell.

If it's pain, then it's ok. He can handle that easily.

I think he was lucky, he almost always crashes in the tour. If that was it, then ok i can live with it
